"Hubby..." I called out, soft and sweet, stepping close to wrap my arms around him and press a gentle kiss to his lips the moment he stepped out.

I pulled back from the kiss but stayed wrapped around him. "How was your day? Did work go well?" I asked, looking up at him.

He only stared back at me, expressionless, his brows furrowed just like they always were. "Why are you outside?" He asked, his voice deep and masculine.

"Because I was waiting for you?" I replied, tone light and questioning, but quickly added when I saw his frown deepen. "I just wanted some fresh air... and waited for you anyway."

His expression didn't change at all. I led him back inside — knowing deep down that no matter what I did, nothing would ever shift this man's demeanor. He had always been this way, cold and unyielding, since the day he was born.

The only thing that ever seemed to get a reaction out of him... was if I suck his fucking huge dick again.

Shut up, Lunar, I chided myself. You're being shameless, far too bold for your own good. But he's my husband, isn't he? Ugh.

"You still haven't answered my question," I said once we reached the living room, gently loosening his necktie.

"Fine." Short. Simple. Just like him.

"And you?" He asked, catching me off guard. What about me?

"What about me?" I asked, confused.

"Where were you earlier?" My breath hitched. Damn it. Why did I forget that this man knows everything that goes on around him?

"Hmm... just out." I replied, shrugging like it was nothing.

"Where exactly?"

"I went out with your friends... your brother was there too. We grabbed something to eat, then I came straight home." I told him the truth because why would I lie? I hadn't done anything wrong. Right?

"Oh, and by the way... your brother gave me a bracelet. Said it's for good luck, for carrying your child someday." I paused, then added carelessly. "I put it away, though. I have no plans of getting pregnant."

The air around me suddenly felt heavy and dark. I set his blazer and folded tie on the couch, then turned back to him. "Hungry? I'll start cooking so we can eat."

I left him there and walked toward the kitchen. My whole body felt heavy, exhausted, and I didn't have the energy to argue—though I knew that might change later, once we're alone in our room. *smirk*

I busied myself with cooking, wondering why he hadn't followed me in like he usually did. Strange.

I kept my focus on the food until I heard his footsteps, he walked in and sat at the dining table, just like he always did.

Minutes later, I set everything down. "Thankyou for the meal. Let's eat."

We ate in silence until he spoke again. "Why did you agree to meet them?" His voice was cold, flat.
