As soon as I got back to my place, I quickly grabbed my bag and pulled Vage's hand to leave.

"Let's go, we're going home." I said firmly—my tone making it clear to everyone present that I had not been pleased by what had just happened.

Heh... I really needed to put on a good act right now. Even though I had expected something like this might happen, the plan was still so foolish. Out of all the things they could have come up with, they chose something that would only humiliate me in front of everyone.

It was meant to be funny, but it would never work on me. I had long grown used to this kind of thing.

All eyes were fixed on Vage and me, but I walked straight ahead with poise, still holding his hand, while he followed quietly beside me.

The entire ride was quiet. I had been sitting in his car for nearly half an hour now, and it seemed we were heading toward his mansion. I had intended to go to Livinghell's house, but before I could even open the door of my own car earlier, the male lead had pulled me into his vehicle, leaving me with no choice. And so here I sat, silent.

"I'm hungry. What would you like to eat?" I asked him, seeing that he had no intention of speaking. Besides, as I had told myself, I needed to build memories with this male lead. I had to win his favor so that I could be certain he would stay by my side until the very end.

This was the only way I could think of to survive. I had to gain the trust of all of them and keep them within my grasp until the end, so that I could stay alive.

What chance did I really stand against these eight male leads? I mean... yes, I was strong, and Livinghell was strong too, but even then, it would only end in death for both of us.

If all eight of them turned against me, it would be as if the whole world had joined forces just to see me dead.

I needed to keep every single one of them under my control for the rest of my life, until I died of old age. That was the only kind of death I would ever accept.

"Anything." Was his only reply. I simply nodded. I had no intention of cooking any of the food native to this world anyway, so I decided I would just prepare the dishes I was used to eating back in the real world.

Ugh! Even now, I still found myself wondering what was happening in the story and how it was changing. The way the male lead acted now, along with everything that had been taking place, no longer matched the events described in the earlier pages of the book.

And then there was this whole matter of an heir. I mean... I was already enjoying teasing Livinghell's husband, and truth be told, I deserved to feel the warmth of another body too—but I had no desire to have a child.

I knew that having children was expected for married couples, but it was out of the question right now. It wasn't that I was opposed to the idea forever. After all, part of my plan was to keep the male lead tied to me for life, and having a child would certainly help with that. But I had to find a way around it, because it simply could not happen yet.

Besides, while having children was something I had once dreamed of, I just... I couldn't picture myself becoming a mother right now. I didn't feel like it was something I wanted, not in my current situation, and certainly not in a world like this.
