The Stages Before a Lovers Quarrel ~ A Jegulily and Wolfstar Fanfiction

"Come on guys! Hurry up the train is leaving," Lily Evans said to her best friends. Remus and Severus. It was all of their first year at Hogwarts and the three were boarding at platform 9 and 3/4 at 10:58 in the morning. Remus and Serverus didn't necessarily like each other, more put up with one another for Lily's sake.

"We're on! Merlins beard Lily, we still have a few minutes!" Remus exclaimed.

"Let's go find a compartment then," Lily said.

The 3 of them walked down the corridors of full compartments before they came to the end of the carriage. A young, scruffy looking kid poked his head out of the door.

"Hi, I'm James Potter, you need somewhere to sit? We've got plenty of room," He said.

"We don't need your help finding a compar-"

"We would love to sit with you, thanks." Lily elbowed Severus and he scowled as the trio followed James into the room. Aside from the scruffy kid, there was a plump boy with blonde hair and a red face playing a game that looked like a violent version of chess with a boy who had shoulder length hair and pale skin with stormy grey eyes. He looked at the blonde haired boy, daring him to take out his queen. The two of them barely seemed to notice the new additions to the cabin. They watched them play for a few more minutes until the pale boy sighed with defeat.

"You won again Pettigrew. How are you so good at wizards chess?"
Ah. That's what is was called. Quite obvious when you think about it.

"How about you try winning a match when all of your older siblings are helping each other and never you. Just gotta learn to crush 'em," He laughed and turned to the three newcomers. "Peter. Peter Pettigrew. What about you?"

"Lily Evans. And that's Remus Lupin and Severus Snape," she said "And who are you?"

" That's Sirius, that is." James answered for him. He flushed in embarrassment.

The 6 of them split into separate conversations and Peter won a lot more matches of wizards chess —which Sirius wasn't very happy about— before they went to change into their robes.

They all returned to the compartment. An awkward silence consumed them all until Sirius asked "What house do you all want to be in?"

"Gryffindor!" James and Peter shouted in unison
"I don't mind," Lily said
"Definitely Slytherin." Severus replied
"I'm happy with Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. What about you?" Remus returned the question.
"I'm rooting for Gryffindor but if I don't get Slytherin I'll be breaking a like.. 500 year old tradition." He twisted his fingers
"Really. What's your family name?" James questioned.
"Black." He seemed upset or ashamed. The conversation flow had been cut off, leaving them in another awkward silence.

Most of the group had fallen asleep for the last part of the train ride but the sudden stop was enough to wake them up 10 times over. With everybody trying to get off the train they all got separated. Lily got shoved into a couple walls and out the door before finding her way off the train and hearing a tall, hairy giant-ish man call out. "Firs' years over 'ere. Come along now. First years this way!" All of the younger kids gathered around him, helping Lily find her way back to her friends. Severus pulled her towards the rest of them, who had already found each other.

"Lily! These new children are worse than that Lupin. They literally asked if I knew how to use shampoo!"

"Oh. Let find Remus then. we'll figure it out later," She said.

"Guys! Over here, we need to find a good boat!" James hyperactive voice called out. Lily followed the noise to the riverbank, waiting for instructions from the giant man, whose name was Hagrid.

"Alright you lo'. Four kids to a boat. Don't try carrying too many people or the boat'll tip over."

"Alright," James started. "How about... Me, Sirius and Peter go in a boat and Lily, Remus and Shampoo-less go into a boat together?"

"James! Don't call him that. It's mean," Lily exclaimed

"Sorry Evans, it's just a joke. We were trying to come up with nicknames for everyone. Yours was Fire-Flower."

"That's stupid."

"Maybe but we're kids, we're allowed to be stupid every once in a while."

A/n I edited it from when I first published so idk how many anymore but whateveerrrrrr. I'm so tired and by the end of this I kinda just wanted to leave it on a note where Lily and James are being idiots together and I really just wanted it to finish...

Btw sorry I keep republishing this chapter I just decided to go through an edit cause i forgot to when I first started it also chapters will be kindaaaa slowww because school and everything I'll try and post once a week . :)
