James squeezed the remaining life out of his parents the moment he saw them together on the platform at Kings Cross. He started telling them everything he could about Hogwarts and its history. Anything he could recall before Euphemia reminded him that she and James' father had both attended Hogwarts as teens. Although his mother moved there in her fourth year, transitioning from a wizarding school in Varanasi, India. She liked teaching James little bits of Hindi or Bhojpuri. Especially whilst the two of them were cooking together and Fleamont was there but had absolutely no idea what they were saying.

Fleamont apparated them home before jumping on the couch with his son, ready to hear all about his new friends, professors and all the adventures he had gone on that year; Like when Remus was feeling down and used a red laser for all the cats to chase. Even taking it to McGonagall's classroom where she transformed into a cat the moment she saw it there. The boys didn't know that she had noticed them huddled behind the entrance.

Before long, hours had passed and Euphemia called out to her boys for dinnertime, they were having homemade potato chips, broccoli and sausages.

"Can't we have something fun on my first night home mum?" James whined.

"I'm sticking to the meal plan you set in place last summer, boy. Don't you complain to me." She ruffled his hair affectionately. The family dug into the wonderful meal while conversing about current news, more about James' time at Hogwarts and James wanting to catch up with his friends over the summer holidays.

That night after his father's foul attempt at baking an apple pie, James ran up to his bedroom on the second floor and started writing letters to his friends.

Dear Peter,

I had so much fun with you at Hogwarts this year. I know it's very soon, but I was wondering if you'd like to catch up any time over the summer holidays in either Muggle London or Diagon ally (These are the only places my mother lets me go unsupervised). If not that's okay. I still have to write to everyone else also. Answer me whenever you want.

Dear Remus,

Hey dude. How are you? Just sent peter a letter asking if he wanted to hang out over summer and I'm offering you the same invite. Love to see you guys again. Answer when you can.

JFP

Dear Sirius,

Sirius! Are you okay? You looked stressed when I left you on the train. Hope fully I'll see you this summer, yeah? Sorry If your parents find this or something. You mentioned them being quite blood purity and stuff. Talk when you can.

He gave his owl a post satchel with the notes inside.

"Take these to the Black's, Pettigrew's and Lupin's please, Cosmo. Thank you!"

He gave Cosmo a treat before she flew away to deliver the letters over Britain.

James has just finished getting ready for bed when his parents walked into his room to bid him goodnight. He was wearing a light grey singlet and Gryffindor themed basketball shorts, and his parents were wearing matching 'I love you' pyjamas. As they were leaving James flicked off the light and tucked himself in. His parents were walking down the stairs and he heard Fleamont say in his old man voice:

"Ow. My back hurts. Why did we have to move him upstairs."

Followed by his mother remarking: "Oh shush Flea. You're not that old." She laughed.

James chuckled to himself. He loved seeing the way that his parents were in love. It was one of his greatest desires for his future to experience that kind of love. Maybe even with a girl from school. His dreams as he slept were all just a fuzzy feeling of love, kindness, joy. Emotions of that sort.

Fleamont and Euphemia were sitting on the sofa with tea and a tv show playing in the background.

(Mini A/n: I looked it up cause in my country (Aus) we use couch but sofa in primarily used in Uk (obvi) And INDIA! So that's pretty cool. Alright I get back to fic now (Also yes, they have a tv, they're a very progressive wizarding family, that's why the blacks hate them))

"Are you alright?" Fleamont asked his wife, who notably looked like she was about to cry.

"He's growing up so fast. And, and He's at school now. He's still meant to be my little boy. And obviously I'm happy for him. Proud of him. But it feels like I have no control anymore, of anything." She burst into tears, happy and sad.

Fleamont put both of their teas on a coffee table before it spilled and took Effie into a hug, comforting her even when she felt better and was just content to be in her husband's arms. Their teas were cold by now and both of them were ready to sleep. They put their dishes in the sink and tucked themselves into bed. Joining arms once again.

A/n OMGGGGGG I feel like that is just such a sweet chapter omgg!!! got 3 days till summer holidays. I've started writing this book for one of my friends and if they want, once it's finished, I can publish it here. Also, I have not proofread this, if there is any mistakes just let me know, k.
