<>hayes pov<>
i arrived 20 early to the swim party at coach lexingtons house.
kinda awkward but i want to make a good first impression.
i sat in my car, debating if i should go knock or wait it out a few more minutes.
i looked at the front door to see sunny walking out.
she had her car keys in her hand while typing on her phone.
wearing teal romper and as she got closer she has her bathing suit on under it. he tan legs on full display.
i got out of my car, acting like i haven't been sitting out here for 5 minutes.
"hey sunny."
she kinda jumped, "oh, hey hayes! you can head in, my dads grilling burgers. back doors straight back once you walk in." she points.
just say it hayes.
"i actually need to talk to you."
she raised her eyebrows, and walked over to a car before waving for me to come over.
i chuckled and walked to her.
i scratched the back of my neck, nervous for what i was about to ask. this question could lead to major consequences and possibly me being traded.
"can i um- can i get your number? i totally understand if not, your dad scares me and i dont want to get you in trouble."
she giggled.
"as long as you take this secret to your grave, you can have it."
she passed me her phone and i quickly typed it in, making sure to text myself so i had hers.
"where you heading?" i asked, giving her her phone back.
"the store. need anything?"
i could listen to an audio book if she read it and i hate reading.
"um no." i said, fighting the urge to say yeah you.
"the front doors unlocked and then back down in straight back. ill be back soon."
"be safe." i said.
shit.
she smiled and got in her car.
i walked in the house as she was driving away.
following sunnys direction, i went to the back porch.
"hey coach!" i greeted him, as i shut the back door behind me.
he turned around from the grill and smiled.
"hows it going hayes?"
"good i guess."
"you're hear early." he said.
"id rather be early than late." i said.
"thats a very good mind set." he said.
i walked towards him, seeing that he was cooking hamburgers.
"can i help?"
"i believe that kacey will be bringing out the vegetables soon, you can help cut them up. she's getting the kids in their bathing suits right now & sunny just ran to the store for me. no matter how many year ive done this, ill always forget something." he chuckled.
i looked around the big porch.
their house is big!
in the corner was a hammock swing with an easel next to it.
