Isa works all morning, taking phone calls, making appointments, and handling clients.

Then before heading to lunch checks her phone.

That's her only notification.

She was hoping to have another message from Peter.

...

Isa walked upstairs to the break room to meet Peter for lunch.

She waits, waits, and then waits some more.

After waiting for fifteen minutes and sending Peter three messages, checking on him, Isa begins to get really worried.

Petey would never do this to me. Something must have happened to him.

After more time passed, Isa realized Peter stood her up...

Realizing Peter isn't showing up, Isa begins to eat her lunch by herself.

Isa begins to think about where she and Peter stood.

Are we even still best friends? I barely even see him anymore.

I wish he'd let me know what's up with him. I want to be there for him, the way he was always there for me...

Her lunch ended.

As she walks down the hall to take the stairs down to her desk, she continues thinking about her relationship with Peter.

Could we ever be more than just best friends? He's never EVER even shown any interest in me...

As soon as she thought that, she turned the corner and at the end of the hallway she saw...

Peter!

She was about to go up to him and ask what happened, but she sees he's not alone.

Peter was by the water cooler, talking to another woman. He looks all flustered.

Red in the face, messy hair, and not properly buttoned suit.

She can see the woman is standing very close to Peter.

Her mind goes to the worst place,

Peter forgot about me... to spend his lunch with her...

Her heart breaks.

She begins to hyperventilate.

Feeling unable to handle this out in the hallway, Isa runs to the closest restroom. Locking herself in a stall.

She starts to collect herself.

I shouldn't be feeling this way. I shouldn't feel this way about my best friend.

Peter wants to be with that other woman... He'd rather spend their lunch with that other woman...

Maybe, this is my sign to move on before I get hurt.

It's time to move on, Isa...

At that moment, Isa decided she was going to move on from Peter. They were only ever going to be friends. Nothing more.

This realization made her physically sick. This didn't feel wasn't right. Isa had always secretly, deep down inside, thought and hoped her and Peter were destined to be together.

I always thought we would be the right person at the wrong time but I know it's the wrong person period.

...

A couple minutes later, Isa left the restroom.

Calm and collected, she finished out her shift.
