The world of Remnant is filled with two species, almost identical in terms of figure and sentience; humans and Faunus. Faunuses, to put it simply, are humans with only one animal trait. There could be a Faunus that has a set of bull horns, one with a fox's tail, or some with a pair of reptilian eyes. But while Faunuses may only have one animal trait, they gain some attributes from the animal that they inherit, such as a monkey's flexibility and athletics.
Though they only appear different than humans, they are about as equal to humans like green and red apples. But despite this, some humans see Faunuses as freaks of nature. At best, they are nothing but work mules that do the heavy lifting. They are mainly used for mining special resources underground that has become known as Dust; elemental rocks that vary from elements, like water and fire. Upon this prejudice, many were discriminated because of their animal trait, and have been treated unfairly. Many places refused to serve Faunuses, and others hunt them down to go to the mines.
Desperate for equality, the White Fang was born. At first, they were peaceful protesters, waving signs and calling out to any who would hear them. But as time grew on, and their cries for equality fell on deaf ears, they soon turned violent. Attacking trains carrying precious Dust material, attacking human towns and villages, their cries for equality turned to a desire to dominate. The only thing keeping them from letting their hate out on the humans were Huntsmen and Huntresses, people who fend off the Creatures of Grimm and protect the land they call home.
Of course, to raise those into being Huntsman and Huntresses, it was only logical to create combat schools in order to educate the younger generations, and prepare them for the world ahead. The world of slaying monsters and saving the day.
One of the most prestigious and well-known school was Beacon Academy! Standing as a beacon of hope, they are known to train students into well-known Huntsmen. They teach the students everything they need to know; the history of the world, the Creatures of Grimm themselves, and the sciences that can help protect their home.
There are many who exceed in these areas, and science is one fascinating subject to one (F/N) (L/N).
In the bustling city of Vale, within the dormitories of Beacon Academy, this student can be seen looking between his Scroll, a communication device that was similar to that of a smartphone, and his notebook. The screen light of the device glared against his face, showing his (H/C) hair, and his (E/C) eyes behind a pair of glasses. With each time he was looking between his notebook and his Scroll, his glasses began to slide down each inch.
"Interesting," he muttered to himself as he was looking at an article titled; "Ties to Faunus." Beneath the title was the author's name, "Lizalfos". It could only imply that they wanted to remain anonymous. (F/N) pushed his glasses up and returned to his notebook. Among that, were other notes, formulas with the word "UNSTABLE" or "FAILED" written in bold in the top, as well as a device resembling a bracelet, next to it was another such device, but nothing like what he had drawn; the second device had shotgun shells running along the bottom of it.
There was one thing, however, that is important when talking about the combat schools of Remnant; every student is paired with three other teammates, based on an enrollment test they take before entering Beacon. And (F/N) was not an exception to the rules.
Walking through the door to the dorm, three individuals stepped in. They looked around their room, seeing that it was shrouded in darkness, to which one reached over and flipped the switch. (F/N) noticed the lights shining and turned to the door.
"Oh, hey guys," (F/N) replied. He was about to get back to his work, when he noticed something off about the girl. He examined her again, and saw that she was soaked from head-to-toe, her eye twitching in anger. "Abella, are you okay?" He asked, standing up from his chair and examining the girl. He opened his mouth to ask what happened, only for him to know the answer before he could utter the first word. "Cardin?"

FanfictionThe Faunus of Remnant were, and have always, been treated as freaks of nature. People not deserving of rights and equality. The many years of segregation had pushed people to extremes, especially in the field of science.
