After (F/N) stormed out of Beacon again, getting some air, he found himself strolling through town. For whatever reason, his body carried him away from the school, as if trying to put as much distance between him and the others as possible. It was just so much put onto him at once. The lies that were spoken, his confidence blowing up in his face, and the weight of all Faunus problems getting heavier with his appearance. Fate played a dirty hand to him to have him go through all of that.
And of all things, it came from a spider bite!
Why couldn't it be something like a bee sting? Or some other insect?
But those questions don't matter; either way he was still a Faunus, but he didn't know why. Trying to figure it out, all he could think of was the article by Lizalfos on humans having Faunus DNA. A gene that hold Faunus traits, but suppressed given the human gene being more dominant. He couldn't believe that it was a spider bite that might've awoken spider-like abilities within his body. It was a one-in-a-million chance that he had spider Faunus DNA, and he got it by being bit by a spider. But fate layed out its course, although (F/N) had to suffer.
He walked for so long that the evening turned to night, and only the owl Faunuses might be present, as well as any sort of shadows lurking around in the darkness. His feet soon grew tired of walking, and he decided to take a break at a sidewalk bench. Sitting down, he rested his elbows on his knees, hunched forward, and looked at the ground in front of him. The hard, cold stone of the pavement returned the glance, and left nothing but the moths tapping the lights, any cicadas buzzing in the night, and the passerby talking to each other.
Taking the moment to relax, he leaned back against the bench and looked up at the nigh sky. The stars shone down on him and the cracked and destroyed moon shining what light it could on the rooftops of Vale. It was like he was mentally calling out to the Brothers, one of Light and one of Darkness, for help (deities of Remnant said to have made the world). He let out a breath through his nose, feeling his body just relax against the seat.
But the moment he started to close his eyes to continue relaxing, the strange sense he's had ever since he was bit went off again. The boy's eyes opened up and went wide. He sat up and leaped over the entire street. Rolling on the ground and turning to see who tried to hurt him, he saw that there were more people trying to throw stuff at him.
"Look! It's that cheating student!" Someone shouted.
"Hey, it is!" Another person said, as they were standing at the same side as (F/N).
"You don't deserve to be in the same school as the other students!"
(F/N) started to look around at the people shouting at him, hearing how he cheated in the sparring match, how he doesn't belong in Beacon, and so forth. A group humans started to gather and call him out, some recording him to see if he would do anything that would prove Curveball's points. A part of him wanted to tell them they're wrong and give his perspective, however he knew that they wouldn't listen. His only other option was to run; prevent a fight from starting and keep himself out of harm's way.
He quickly disappeared from the view and went down an alleyway, all the while people were following him. But when he turned a corner to reach the other side of the street, he was blocked off by a wall. When he turned around, he could see the people following him, while behind him he could see the logo of the White Fang (a head of a beast and claw marks going through it). His eyes lingered on that logo, before his sense alerted him to another thrown object. He jumped up and pressed his fingers and toes against the wall. He stuck to it, like how he stuck to the underside of the stage, and looked back down at them. They didn't let up, though. Seeing him act more like a spider, they just increased their efforts. He quickly climbed up the wall and got to the roof and continued running.

FanficThe Faunus of Remnant were, and have always, been treated as freaks of nature. People not deserving of rights and equality. The many years of segregation had pushed people to extremes, especially in the field of science.
