The next day rolled around. And with it began this changed life for (F/N). Almost instantly, the second he stepped out of his dorm room, he was hit with a big spit ball. He removed the wad from his face and looked down at the perpetrator. Of course, it was Cardin.
"Come on, that's a bullseye!"
"Nah, you have to actually hit the eye!" Cardin replied, loading another ball into the straw and firing. (F/N) held his book bag up to shield him from the ball and put some distance between him and Cardin.
Abella followed, dodging some of Cardin's spitballs as well, which left Dan and Lucas to step in to block any more. (F/N) pulled out a handkerchief and wiped away the excess spit that was left over from one of the wads.
"Guess they must've seen the video as well," Lucas said, glancing back at the team with an annoyed glare.
"Forget the video," Abella began, "they probably watch the entire podcast."
That was just the beginning. Following that, Cardin's little tricks got worse and worse with each class. When (F/N) got to Port's class, Cardin began hurling wads of paper at (F/N), either hitting his back, or the back of his head. He could hear Cardin and his team rack up more points the closer to his head that they could get.
The next class, Cardin would knock over an armor stand so that it would topple onto (F/N). Of course, the boy dodged it, but no matter what, it still made CRDL laugh. All while they recorded each instance on their Scrolls.
When Professor Peach's class rolled around, Cardin made one of the more brutal attempts ever. As (F/N) and his team was getting seated, Cardin and his team took a stack of text books and actually hurled those at (F/N)'s head! The first book was thrown, and the tingling sensation at the back of (F/N)'s skull actually tingled at a greater intensity than before! While earlier times, when he was waking up and running down the hallway, it was for something small like being late or nearly hitting the custodian's trolley. But this time, it alerted (F/N) to something that would've really hurt. He ducked and hid under the table crawling to the other side, while Cardin still tried to pelt him with heavy textbooks.
They didn't stop, until the teacher walked in. They dropped the books they had left and hurried to their seats, leaving (F/N) to just glare at them with how they thought it was a good idea to start hurling books.
Lunch time finally rolled around. (F/N) just sat at the table staring at his food. While last time he was wolfing it all down, this time he just wasn't hungry. Ever since that video went viral, it felt like Cardin had it out for him now. Only the powers that were given to him just warned him of his ever increasing lethality.
"I can't believe this," Abella said as she sat across from (F/N). He assumed she was talking about something else.
"Look, I'm sorry. I don't know how to explain it all to you and the others," he replied.
"No, not that," she replied, "I can't believe Cardin is starting to turn his aim at you after you went viral. The stuff he's doing is just ridiculous."
"Nothing the school can do," (F/N) replied. "Once again-" Abella held her hand up to stop him, knowing the spiel by now. She just let out a sigh. "Besides, I thought we knew this already."
"You didn't get the treatment I got. It was only when that stupid video went viral that he started getting more lethal when you were found out." (F/N) nodded his head as he looked down at his food.
As they sat there picking at their food, (F/N) looked around the lunchroom to see where the rest of his team is. If they were going to discuss going over (F/N)'s abilities, now would be a good time to talk about it. But his eyes soon landed on a familiar sight.
