Slowly, (F/N) could feel his consciousness return to him. His body, feeling a bit heavy, was resting on something comfortable. Although having passed out from blood loss, it felt like he was taking a nap. Waking up with his back against something soft and cushion-y wanted to make him fall back asleep.
"It'd probably be better. I gotta recover," (F/N) thought to himself as he noticed that there were blankets covering the bed he was on. Not the blanket that was over his lower half, but a blanket draping over the bed like it was a privacy curtain or drapes around fancy beds.
The more he woke up, the more he started to feel more things in his surroundings, such as the wraps around his body, how any visible skin was subjected to the breeze in the room. His chest rising and falling with each breath he took. He felt some energy course his body, getting him to slowly sit up. The moment he lifted himself up, he felt pain across his chest.
"Ow, ow, ow," he said, slowly laying back down to let the pain subside.
"(F/N)!" He heard. He turned his head to the source, where he finally saw that he was on one of the bunk beds in the room, looking across at the other bed that was held up by books. He then saw Ruby poke her head into view. She looked towards (F/N)'s face, seeing that he was awake. She pulled herself up and climbed on the bed next to him and looked over his body. "Don't move, you could open your wounds again!" She got close, though with a slight blush on her face, and checked the bandages she wrapped him in. She grabbed a towel and cleaned up any that seeped out from beneath the bandages.
"Did you do this?" He asked, referring to the bandages. "And..." he looked over and confirmed his suspicion. You see, he was on the top bunk of the two sets of bunk beds in the room. And given that he passed out, someone had to have put him up there. Ruby tensed up, but she nodded her head. "Sorry for bleeding out on your floor." Ruby looked up at him, unsure on how she should reply to that, but she just kept going.
"What happened to you?"
"You should see the other guy," (F/N) replied. "The other guy, in this instance, being a giant, mutated lizard." She turned her head to look at him again, initially surprised at what he was saying.
"It's not a Grimm?" She asked. (F/N) shook his head.
"No," he answered, "it's like...it's like fighting an Ursa, but the Ursa isn't some beast. It's smart. Really smart." Ruby wasn't sure what to do with that information, only to feel some kind of terror at a creature smarter than Grimm and just as deadly, if not more deadly, than they are. She had to really see it for herself to understand the gravity, but now wasn't the time to worry about that, not when someone is severely wounded.
"Did you not use your Aura? If anything, you could use what you have left to heal yourself."
"No, it didn't really occur to me." Her eyes widened.
"You came all the way, from who knows where, to Beacon like that?" She asked.
"Never really understood it," (F/N) replied. "I don't even know what my Semblence is. Wasn't very good at controlling it, so I didn't really use it." Ruby's heart was beating rapidly, while she was extremely curious as to how someone with that much injuries was able to return to Beacon. "Dan would try and teach me, but I just couldn't understand it."
"(F/N), you do realize that in order to use Dust, you need to use your Aura as well?" (F/N) paused for a moment to let that information set in, before took in a deep breath.
"Ah..." he muttered. "Starting to really regret not listening to Dan on that one." Ruby took a deep breath of her own to help calm herself down.
"Look, maybe there's something you can do now," she began.
