Twilight: Red Rain

Drac Attack!

Tick...tock...tick...tock. The grandfather clock made its customary noise as I sat there in the armchair in my living room, looking outside, as I saw the full-blood moon in the sky. Lately, there had been a large buildup of red algae in the water of Forks, which had been causing a bit of red rain, which made the whole town look a lot more ominous than usual, and that's saying something since we get a lot of rain here as is, so it usually looks quite ominous. As I was getting bored, suddenly, a phantom image of Bella appeared before me and said "Edward, why is a Raven like a Writing Desk? Because Poe wrote on both, of course! Have another cup of tea" before fading from the room. But soon, the silence was broken by my phone buzzing, and when I picked up, Charlie was at the other end, telling me "Hey, Edward, I found a crime scene that I think you and your friends would be interested in" "cool, I'll be there as soon as I can" and so, I left to check it out with Bella, Jacob, and Loba in tow

When we got to the crime scene, we saw Charlie inspecting a dead body, from the look of it, the body was of a prostitute, and her skin seemed to be getting unusually pale, and then I asked Charlie "Is there any kind of injury on the body?" and he said "that's exactly why I brought you here" and he showed me what looked to be bite marks on the woman's neck, and I said "well, it looks like there's another coven of vamps in town, and this one's out for human blood, likely to swell their ranks" "well, anything else?" Charlie wondered aloud, and I said "yes, they seem to be exceptionally powerful vampires, those are like, the creme de la crop of the undead, they can transform into stuff like giant humanoid bats, wolves, colonies of rats, and even a red floating mist" "so" said Charlie "if they can transform into mist, then they must be using that to their advantage, as a way of biting victims without being seen" "Elementary, my dear Charlie" Bella joked  "indeed" said Charlie, and so, we continued to investigate, but, soon, we would get even more information, as well as an invaluable ally 

it happened when we decided to scope out the sewers, thinking that they may be using those as a way of getting around the city, and as we trekked, we soon didn't have to look long before multiple vampires came out and attacked us, we fought well, but we were outnumbered 30 to 5, and the one leading the group, a vampire with long hair, a confederate war uniform (minus the hat), and one eye with longer eyelashes than the other, was on Charlie, wanting to bite him,  before a woman with brown hair and wielding a stake gun jumped down from behind and began fighting our foes, but we barely had time to introduce ourselves, when suddenly, a large red gas filled the room, and all the attacking vampires stopped attacking us and assembled near the center of the mist, before the mist transformed into another five vampires, led by a male who, like Arnold, the one who attacked Charlie, had long hair, only he had black hair instead of Arnold's blond, this one also had a close-cropped black mustache, and was wearing black armor that looked to be from medieval times, with a cape that was black on the outside and red on the inside, next to him was a woman with flaming red hair, and wearing a bridal gown, on her left was another male, this one was tall, thin, and completely bald, with a skull-like facial structure, a hooked nose, thick black eyebrows, and deep-set eyes, the final one was another male, with brown hair, a beard, and dressed like a wealthy landowner from the 1700s, the leader was silent for a moment, before he said, to the woman who helped us (and with less thick of a Transylvanian accent than you would probably imagine), "again we meet, dear Mina. And again, I find you hunting my children!" and then he bared his fangs and hissed aggressively at her, before Mina said "We have to stop meeting like this, count" and the vampire she was talking to said "oh, I'll make sure of it, your hunting of my children has kept my noble work from fulfillment for years, but now I see you colluding with a heretic!" (he meant me, tracker vampires like him consider vegetarian vampires like me 'heretics' for not feeding on human blood like they do) then, he called for reinforcements, forcing us to retreat back to my house, where Mina explained that "this is not a normal hunt, this a harvest, and one overseen by the Lord of the Undead himself" "by Dracula" I said, knowing full well which vampire she was referring to "yes" said Mina "what me and Jonathan did in Transylvania wasn't enough, he somehow survived" and I said "well, to clarify, all Jonathan really did was throw a Bowie knife into his heart, and from your journal, it can be deduced that he fazed into mist form to escape and later flee to America to rebuild his coven after you and your friends destroyed it" "indeed" Mina said, and so we decided to team up to take down our common foe

Meanwhile, Dracula was beginning to do his kind of work, sending his lackeys out into the seamier parts of the city to serially bite people, mostly street gangs, juvenile delinquents, crime lords, and corrupt government officials, and recruiting these bite victims to their cause, he had also found an old abandoned hotel (which, fittingly, looked a lot like a castle. Given its being placed there by Universal as part of a promotional tour for House of Frankenstein) left over from the Forks World's Fair of 1946, which he used as a new secret hideout for himself and his coven, who were finalizing their plans for world domination, but, not all hope was lost, I had received word that there was a thumb drive kept in this hideout that detailed much of his evil plans, so, we decided to steal it
