"Oh just wait until I tell your dad." Rafe snickered

"You wouldn't." I challenged. I knew he wouldn't crack...right?

"Why not? I've been waiting to get my hands on something to ruin that perfect little image you try to keep." Rafe grumbled as he took calculated steps towards me.

His eyes looked tired. Like he'd been up all night.

It felt intimidating, but I knew that was his goal, so I tried to keep my calm.

"Do you take me for an idiot? You'd never tell because you know I'd open my mouth too. I'll tell your dad everything you've done since the day I got here. I don't think he'd be so pleased with that." I spat back.

He almost visibly flinched at my words so I knew then that he would never tell.

"And what makes you think I care? My dad doesn't exactly take me for a perfect kid, but your dad sure does with you. That picture perfect daughter would break into thousands of pieces." He said menacingly.

I knew he was right, but I couldn't let myself believe he would snitch.

Just before I opened my mouth to say another word, Sarah came in.

"Ugh, would you stop annoying y/n, Rafe? You're already enough of an asshole." She groaned as she walked up next to me and then grabbed my arm.

"Come with me. I'm cleaning the deck outside." She whispered as she pulled me outside behind her.

Before exiting the room, I took one last look at Rafe who was already staring back at me. What the hell does that kid want from me?

And why are his eyes so mesmerizingly hypnotizing?

Well, maybe ignore that last part...

But as Sarah dragged me away, I could feel his eyes burning through my skull...

I was snapped back into reality when Sarah handed me a black trash bag and said

"..right?"

I looked at her dumbfounded and she blinked.

"Are you alright? Oh my gosh, did Rafe do something? Who am I kidding, of course he did." She scoffed

"No, no, sorry I was just..thinking is all. You know, about what I told you happened with my dad." I tried to salvage myself, and it surprisingly worked.

"right...sorry again by the way. I know he's upset but maybe ignoring you wasn't the way to go." She mentioned.

"Exactly. I mean, I know what I did was bad and I shouldn't have done it, but ignoring me, really? He's a grown man." I agreed.

We laughed together as we just talked about other things, mostly trying to take my mind off my dad and Rafe, but she didn't have to know that.

After about an hour, the country club was clean once again and we all headed to the cars.

"Hey Y/d/n. Rose and I were going to take our family out for dinner, I wanted to ask if you'd like to come along with your daughter?" Ward called out to my dad as he approached his car.

"That's sounds great, thanks Ward." my dad thanked him.

"Not a problem, we can give you two a ride as well. Be ready by 6." Ward said with a smile.

"Thanks, see you then!" My dad smiled

I was already in the car when my dad got in, once again neither of us speaking.

Once we got home with succeeding in whatever quiet game we were playing, I went upstairs and texted Sarah.
