She twisted and turned in her bed, not being able to get a wink of shuteye. Exhausted, yet couldn't fall asleep. Something was bothering her, but she didn't know what.

She didn't even have her meds to ease it a bit.

Still in her pajamas, she left the room and headed down to the private beach right by the hotel they were staying at.

Shinobu sat on the sand, watching the waves go back and forth as the stars collided above her head. She had a lot on her mind. Her company was her passion, but passion comes with struggle and stress.

Sitting there allowed her to actually think and collect her thoughts, when most of the time her decisions had to be made on the spot. But she didn't just think about work, she thought about Giyuu. They were just sex buddies, friends with benefits, hook-ups, sneaky links, every word that could define sex-only-relationship.

Although the intimacy part of their nights together were better than what money can buy, she actually liked the time they spent together platonically. The conversations, dancing under the moonlight, promises to be better.

Every strong romantic relationship also needs friendship.

They had that. They had trust. But are they going to realize that? No, then this story wouldn't have any plot. (I'm joking please don't stop reading.)

Giyuu approached her from behind, taking a seat next to her in the sand.

"Giyuu-? How did you? Why are you?" She questioned.

"I heard the door close when you left. I'm wondering why you're out here at 3 in the morning."

Her knees propped up, resting her head on them. "I couldn't sleep. I've been up since last night."

"Well, at least you're keeping your part of the promise." He tried to crack a joke, but his face ended up looking depressing.

"Wouldn't kill you to smile every now and then." The butterfly eyes rolled. "I can see you have been keeping yours to, you haven't smelled like cigarette smoke in awhile."

He was keeping his promise, because of her. And because he would never make a promise he couldn't keep. Giyuu was like that, an honest man.

Their following conversation went on until sunrise.

She stood up and walked towards the water, beckoning him to follow. They dipped their feet in the cold ocean. "It's beautiful." She admired how the sea reflected off into the sky.

Giyuu looked at her and replied, "It is. It really is."

"When my older sister got her license, she'd drive 3 hours to take me and Kanao to the closest beach. We'd splash and run around playing tag." Shinobu was nostalgic. "Kanae basically raised me, my parents were always caught up with work."

He listened delicately, and his gaze softened.

She turn her head to him and smiled, "The ocean looks like your eyes."

Giyuu almost tripped backwards hearing that compliment. "Oh. Thank you." He tried to stay calm.

"ITS 7 IN THE FUCKING MORNING! WHAT IS THAT BANGING NOISE FROM THE ROOM NEXT DOOR!" Inosuke jumped awake.

Zensitu looked traumatized as he sat in a crawled up ball on his bed. "I've been hearing that sound since 5am and couldn't fall back asleep since."

Kanao sat up, "I will go check on my sister."

"NO! DON'T GO KANAO! THERE COULD BE GHOSTS OVER THERE!" Zensitu was on the floor, pulling Kanao's pant leg.

Tanjiro jerked awake at the ruckus. "Zensitu I think you really need some extra sleep. And maybe less horror movies." They'd been watching a new horror film every night durning their vacation. "Kanao, we'll just ask them what happened at breakfast."

"Oh! Well! We were just...packing to leave for our flight home tonight!" Shinobu picked a terrible white lie.

"Oh, did something bad happen then? We heard a lot of yelling." Tanjiro asked.

Inosuke interrupted, "Yeah! I heard Koko scream something like, 'OH FUCK FUCK! YES YES!'" He imitated. "And then he was grunting or some shit!" The boar boy pointed out.

Shinobu almost spat out her morning tea, "I...I just stubbed my toe on a piece of furniture!"

"Yeah...and I sounded like that because she kept moving when I was trying to bandage it." Giyuu continued the lie.

"Who yells yes when they stub their toe?" Muichiro rubbed his chin.

"Just a weird habit I picked up awhile ago."

"But Nee-san-" Kanao was cut off.

"OKAY! That's enough questions for today, let's get on the road for our last day here." Shinobu slammed the table as she stood up, catching everybody off guard.

Later that same day, Nezuko had spotted Shinobu wearing sandals with both toes being fine and not bandaged. Luckily for those two, she minded her business.
