17: The Batterist

Gwen strides through the hallways, keeping her eyes on the floor as she holds a box in her arms that she picked up from the lost and found. The gray and navy blue Visions academy uniform wasn't the most comfortable thing in the world, but it was doable, and it was easy to hide her Spiderwoman outfit. She wore her skirt and black leggings, as well as a grey cardigan. 

 In the lost box she carried, she had various things, such as some back up drumsticks and some makeup supplies just in case. Gwen also had some of her favourite polaroids posted there, a lot of them were of me and some of them were her bandmates. Some of these things were torn and broken now.

"Hey, Gwen! Gwendolynnn.." Someone calls out to her from behind. She pauses, looking behnd her to see Mary Jane, Betty, and Glory. Gwen smiles slightly, feeling MJ putting her arm around her shoulder. "Oh, you found your box of special 'Nerd Things'?" MJ peeks into her box, causing Gwen to quickly move it away from her. 

"H-Hey! That's private." Gwen pouts her lips, furrowing her eyebrows as MJ chuckles slightly. "How are you always one step ahead of us.." Betty glances to the box as Gwen places it back in front of her, trying to keep it away from her bandmates as they surround. "Maybe because you guys won't stop being snoopy around my stuff." Gwen remarks, continuing to walk forward. 

Betty raises an eyebrow, adjusting her beanie with a flick. "I don't remember being snoopy.. Do you guys?" She turns to Glory and MJ. Gwen lowers her eyebrows, cringing slightly. "Really? My drum sets were smash to pieces because you thought I was hiding something inside of them?" She sighs quietly as Glory snorts, laughing to herself. "Oh yeah. Right. We did tear that baby apart, didn't we?"

She nudges Betty, who nudges her back as they begin to playfight. Gwen groans slightly, visibly unimpressed. She glances down as her eyes slowly move up. Gwen does a double take as she sees me, talking to another person in the hallway as our eyes end up meeting. Gwen's eyes widen as she gives me a small wave, her lips parted slightly as she continues to move forward with her bandmates. 

"Oooh! Who's Gwen looking at?" Glory nudges Gwen, causing her to snap out of her trance before she can see my reaction. Gwen's body perks up as she chuckles nervously. "Ah! Uh.. N-No one." She looks up, pouting her lip as her cheeks turn rose and she begins walking a little faster. All of the band glances at each other knowingly with a small smirk as they stay quiet for a few moments. 

I glance back over my shoulder, seeing Gwen walk with her bandmates as I sigh quietly. Looking back to the person that was seeking me for some tutoring over the summer, my expression brightens with a small smile. 

MJ's eyes widen in glee as she sees one of the posters for the concert on the bulletin board. "Guys.. look! We're official!" MJ hits Glory's shoulder multiple times as they all glance at it. "Woo! I'm so nervous for tonight!" Glory squeals slightly, looking around. 

MJ runs forward, turning around to face them. "You'd guys better wear the outfits we picked out together, or so help me.." MJ points to all three of them as their eyes widen. Betty raises her hand. "Do I have to wear the skirt?" She says with a flat voice. "Yes, Betty, the skirt was perfectly chosen by ME in order to compliment your beanie!" Glory nudges Betty.

Betty groans as the rest of them continue walking forward with Gwen carefully observing with a slight smile on her face. She abruptly stops, hearing a familiar voice through one of the TV displays. "Spiderwoman, the masked vigilante, is under charge for more crimes that police believe she's been associated with. We have here an exclusive interview with a mother, who's children were caught in the crossfire of a deathly battle."
