Secret Garden

Shadow didn't really end up going back to sleep, he spent the rest of his hours trying to forget about the nightmare that he had, the darker hedgehog started to wash the blood off of his arm from him just cutting earlier, though when he ran his hand back over the marks, he found that they were already healed.

After he got dressed, he only turned off the lights in his apartment, and headed out the door.

As he walked down the streets of Empire City, he was looking at his phone for any messages...but their really wasn't anything new. When he arrived at G.U.N Headquarters, he only pushed opened the door ignoring the remarks that his fellow agents said to him.

"Well hello Handsome" Rouge greeted as she was sitting on the shoulders of a former E-Series Robot with an Omega Symbol on the shoulder.

Shadow only growls at the nickname, if anything he really wasn't in the mood to deal with Rouge's flirtatious behavior, let alone did he even want to being in this hell of a place.

"Unhappiness...Levels are at the max" The Robot spoke.

Rouge's ears drooped to her head when she heard that from the robot...she knew her partner was going through some stuff that involved his past, but she just didn't think it would be this bad.

"Shadow...Hun, would you like to talk about it?"

Shadow didn't say anything as he just pushes past the robot, to continue down the hallway...he never really wanted to talk about those nightmares, mostly because they were always so painful to talk about.

"Is it just me or is Agent Shadow, more grumpier than normal?"

"No...he's is, Topaz...but it's best to just leave him alone" Rouge said to the human, agent that is her ex-partner.

Shadow opened the door to the training simulation, that had been built for the mobian agents who had abilities and/or fought more aggressively. He didn't really need the training since he was already one of the best fighters G.U.N has, but it worked just enough for him to relieve himself of this anger, or other emotions that he was struggling with.

"Shadow..."

"What?"

Rouge lets out a small sigh, "Look I took you that Garden so you can be alone to express whatever emotions you have building up inside you"

"This training...is not working out for you" The Robot added.

"Tsk...I don't need to that...cause I don't have any that I'm keeping inside" Shadow growled.

"Damnit Shadow, you do...and I can tell, I haven't been around for six years to not know your habits" Rouge argued back, to be honest besides her boyfriend and his friends, she always saw Shadow as her annoying emo little brother, and with the months that she had stayed with him, she can just tell that the darker hedgehog is going some stuff mentally.

Shadow only looked away, he knew Rouge was concerned about him they are rather more than just teammates...but he really didn't want to go that garden, it just made him feel...something that he hadn't in years.

"Fine...I'll go back"

"Great...and take as long as you need, I'll let you know if you are really needed" Rouge said as she opens a secret compartment on Omega, and handing over the green chaos emerald.

"Right..." he mutters as he took the glowing rock into his hand, he only shoved it into his jacket pocket, he only used his speed to bolt out of the training room and the building itself.

Rouge only lets out a small sigh...she really hoped that the fairytales were true about that secret garden, if anything she didn't want to lose Shadow...not for the second time.

The demon was just standing in the little pond in his garden, just cuddling with the little creatures that can fly, he also managed to find away to entertain himself even though he was confined to this one location. His ear twitches when the heavy metal gates slam against each other as in they had been opened. Holding the chao in his arms he quietly peeked around the dogwood tree to see who had entered his garden.

He quickly pulled back when he saw Shadow. He only tilted his ears back.

"I'm sorry little friend...but this is goodbye for now" He said to the little blue Chao in his arms that only purred when it was nuzzles, the demon set the chaos down on dry land before disappearing out of the pond, to follow his new guest.

Shadow couldn't really believe his eyes as was walking through the garden, it was definitely something of a beauty, everything had been completely taken over by nature, but in a poetic sense. He only sat down on the old bench.

"She would've like it here..." he thought, he only wrapped his arms around himself...he really wasn't one to cry his eyes out when he was in public, but when he was alone he couldn't help himself...sure he had Rouge, and Omega, but they couldn't compare to that friend that he on the ARK.

"Chow?..."

Shadow's ears perked up when heard the noise, he looked over to see a Chao just floating in front of him, he knew what those creatures are...after all they were drawn towards chaos energy, something that he had a lot of, so they were always drawn towards. He only reached to rub its head, it wasn't much but he knew it was only trying to cheer him up, which clearly wasn't working.

"Hey...what are you!" He asked as the Chao grabbed a hold of his hand and trying to drag him.

"Chow...Chow"

Shadow only lets out a small sigh, as he followed the chao, the Chao soon let go of his hand.

"Chow!"

Shadow was a bit confused, but he push aside the thick vines that was hanging from the tree, like a curtain, but his eyes only widen at what he saw...he knew that gods were a thing, but a Demon.

The Chao flew over to the demon with a smile on its face, Shadow tried to some it, but the Chao wasn't really in danger as the demon took it into his arms, and started to loving on it.

"There is no need to hide...I'm not gonna hurt you" the demon spoke, referring to Shadow.

Shadow only pushes past the vines, to the clearly. "How?"

The demon didn't want to answer that, the only reason why he allowed Shadow to see him...was he just can sense his pain...a pain that he was rather familiar with.

"Your friend must really care about you?"

Shadow only lets out a small sigh, he hated to admit but if wasn't for Rouge...he wouldn't even be here...mostly do to him having those thoughts, he didn't have those kind of thoughts when he was amnesia, but since he got his memory back, the feeling also started to comeback.

The demon sat down on the grass, and motioned Shadow to follow him. The two sat there in silence, the watching the flower petals blow in the soft wind as they fell from the tree.

Shadow didn't really have anything to say, though he felt rather relaxed when was around the demon, something that he hadn't really felt in years.
