Secret Garden

The demon ended up seeing Shadow almost everyday...not that he minded, mostly because the darker hedgehog just needed a place where he can just relieve himself of this emotional pain that he's been having...cause of his mind couldn't stop thinking about her...and it was really doing a number on his mental state.

The demon didn't really asked much questions, since just having the hedgehog be in his garden was enough for him...even if he had to leave.

"Did she have a name?" The demon finally asked, as he looked over at hedgehog.

Shadow only looked down at the clear water, he really didn't talk about what was bothering him, since he was still in the mindset that he didn't want to get to close someone...since he was just gonna end up never seeing them again. "Her name was Maria..." he didn't really know why he told the demon this...hell he didn't even the demons name. And he's been coming to this secret garden for a month now.

"That sounds like a lovely name..." The Demon admits.

"Well what about you? What's your name?"

The demon was silent, before he started to speak. "I don't have a name..."

Shadow only rolled his eyes, he didn't believe that...everyone has a name, now he can understand if the Demon didn't want to tell him his name. "Everyone has a name"

The demon only shook his head, as he pinned his ears down to his skull, Shadow can tell that the demon was joking around...he didn't bother to press on. "Well I can give you a name"

The demon's ears perked up when heard that, to be honest...Shadow never really seen the demon be so happy before...not once had he even seen the demon smile, well he was kind of in the blame for that, too since he hadn't really been smiling at all either, he didn't really find a reason too.

"You'll do that?..."

"I need to call you something" Shadow said as he looked at the demon, of course the only noticeable thing to the demon was his bright blue fur, and glowing emerald eyes. But he didn't want to give a demon a feminine sounding name. "Sonic"

"Sonic?" The demon repeated.

"Yeah...it's just suits you"

The demon only clears his throat, mostly because of his observation of people visiting his garden, he wanted to try greeting someone...he didn't know Shadow's name, and the hedgehog had been visiting him for a whole month now. He held out his hand, a little confused as to what he was doing, since Shadow was the very first mobian he had ever interacted with. "H-Hi...I'm Sonic it's nice to meet you..." he said.

Shadow told hold of Sonic's hands, "I'm Shadow"

Sonic couldn't help but to tear up a little bit...of all his years of being alone...he finally had a name that he can call his own.

He only pulled his hand away from Shadow's and sniffs giving the hedgehog a genuinely smile. "T-thank you..."

Shadow froze a little bit, when the demon smiled at him...his mind wonder straight back to Maria's friendly smile, that he would get when every was around the human. He hadn't really noticed how much he missed that smile of hers...but seeing from Sonic, kind of made his heart flutter.

He only pushed that thought back to the of his mind, he shouldn't really be thinking about that...after all he may have been visiting the demon at the garden for a month, but he still knew very little from the demon, besides the fact that he didn't know anything that was beyond the gates of the garden. And or how to greet mobians.

He was complete stranger, though when the topic about leaving the garden, the demon always looked sad. He was a little curious about that.

"So Sonic it is then"

Sonic only nodded, as he was happy to finally have name...it made him feel less of an outsider, even though he was...but it was something special, that was given to him by someone that he really cared about.
