The door to the Commander's office opens and Shadow stepped inside, he didn't really looked pleased to be here...if anything he hated this place, this whole organization, since they are the reason why he lost Maria. And his suffering.
"It's nice of you to finally comeback Project Shadow" The Commander spoke.
"Tsk...you didn't give me much of a choice...not after you fucking trashed my apartment, looking for me" Shadow admits, of course before he came to HQ he checked his apartment to make sure that nothing had been stolen...but nothing was, it was only trashed by G.U.N soldiers when they were looking for him, since his absence this whole month.
"Your safety is our concern Project Shadow and you know that"
Shadow only growled, his safety was nothing more than an afterthought, to this organization...he would know, since none of those soldiers didn't hesitate to shoot him on the spot when that whole invasion happened.
"That's bullshit and you know it..."
The Commander didn't say anything, as he just leans back in his chair. "Speaking of which...the reason why Agent Rouge called you"
"Just get on with it!"
"Right, well Eggman had been spotted of the outskirts of Southern Island, it's unclear what he's up to over there"
"So you want me...spy on him, and figure out what he's down" Shadow remarked.
"That is correct"
Shadow only rolled his eyes, he didn't really care about Eggman...he only fights against him cause he was threat to mobius, and he was only keeping a promise that he made to Maria, but as of lately...that promise had been bringing back some old memories, that he didn't remember...painful memories, that he just simply wanted to forget.
"So what do you say Project Shadow"
Shadow kind of didn't want to...since he didn't really see Eggman as much of a threat like he didn't with those other villains, but he also knew he wasn't gonna be getting out of this mission either, his mind than wonder to the garden...and Sonic, Southern Island was all the way across the planet, on the equator, he wasn't gonna be able to see Sonic for at least nine months or so. Not when his chaos energy is currently unstable.
"Fine I'll do it"
"That's great to hear"
Shadow left Towe's office...to get his anger out, he just ended up punching the wall creating a hole in the shape of his fist. Right when he finally had his mental health kind of settled G.U.N just had to come around and ruin it. He only hurried out of the hallway, to the main entrance.
"Where are you going Project Shadow?"
"None of your damn business!?" He snapped at the Soldier, as he just speeded off out of the building.

In the safety of the garden, Sonic was just laying on a tree branch, just watching the leaves blow in the wind, he didn't really have anyway to entertain himself, besides just play with Chaos, but even then it wasn't enough.
He sometimes wonder what Shadow did for fun, or he's been.
"Sonic!"
Sonic's ears perked up when heard his name was called, he recognized the voice as belonging to Shadow, he didn't waste time but started climbing down from the tree to greet the hedgehog.
"Shadow"
Shadow turned his head to see Sonic, walking towards him, he only stopped himself from giving the demon a smile. "Huh Shadow what are you doing?" Sonic asked when he felt his hand being grabbed, he was forced to follow Shadow, though he only pinned his ears down when saw the gates.
"I'm taking you with me"
"Shadow I..."
Just as Shadow opened the gate to leave the garden, he only stopped when heard a cry out of pure agony, he turned to looked to see that the demon's skin started to smoke something kind of similar to a vampire when they step into the sun. He only lets go of Sonic's hand the demon quickly stepped back into his garden, when the burning flesh started heal over, leaving only a small burn scar on his arm.
"What happened?"
"...I...I can't leave...I'm sorry" Sonic admits his ears tilting back.
"What do you mean?"
"I've been curse...to this place..." Sonic said as he he kept his distance from the gate, that separated the garden to outside world. "I get the feeling that we aren't gonna see each other again..." he said as he saw Shadow's expression.
"I'll come back..." Shadow tells the demon, though he wasn't really sure he could, not when he was gonna have G.U.N soldiers watching over just so he didn't screw up that damn mission.
"Not worry about it...I'll cherish the memories" Sonic said as he gave Shadow a tearful smile "Thanks for being my first friend..."
Before Shadow could say anything Sonic had ran back into shrubs of the garden. He only felt tears start to form in the corner of his ears...all those emotions that he had building up inside him, he just couldn't keep in anymore.
He just felt pain from his inhibitor rings that was were giving over red chaos energy, it didn't help that he had that green chaos emerald on him, that was also glowing, before he could do anything he just used the last ounce of humanity he had with him and boosted off as far away as possible from the garden.
There was a huge explosion, of pure chaos energy that came of Shadow, it was similar to that a small nuclear bomb. The hedgehog was on his knees tears streaming from his cheeks, the only chance of happiness...No...the only chance of feeling loved, that wasn't that of a best friend, or siblings, was being stripped from him.
Compared to most emotional outbursts, Shadow normally can keep it to himself of calm himself down quick enough so that he didn't cause some like this to happen, at least he didn't harm innocent people.

"Sir A massive burst of Chaos Energy had been detected" A G.U.N Soldier said point to the coordinates on the map.
Towe had a small grin on his face, this was something that he needed from Shadow...for him to loose control, and his sense of humanity. That report he got about Eggman, was true...and he planned on eliminating the threat before anything could happen to his precious city and the rest of Mobius, that invasion made him realize just how weak his soldiers really were, but with the Ultimate Life Form...nothing really stood in his way.
"Tell the citizens of Southern Island to evacuate, let's just hope Ivo can handle the true power of the Ultimate Life Form"
Rouge only tilted her ears back...she knew the Commander was up to something...sure Eggman is evil, but even didn't deserve the harsh punishment that Shadow was about to give to him. She snuck way and hurried her way to the teleportation pad, Southern Island wasn't that far from Angel Island, and was she gonna need the extra help, even if her boyfriend and Shadow were rivals.
