The Informal Survey for my Hero / Mentors Part 38

There are many days here in Salt Lake when I get really down, and I need a hero, somebody to just say,

"It's going to be OK."

But there's nobody, and I sink deeper into some kind of solitary quicksand. I need to throw a rope out to someone to stop myself from sinking. But there's nobody and no rope, only quicksand and sinking.

I decide to try and make plans with one of my mentors, but I can't get a hold of any of them and then it comes to me,

"Why don't I create a survey with important questions I can ask my mentors when I do see them again. Or I could send it out on Facebook to them."

The act of writing, thinking, coming up with questions and thoughts of these strong women keeps me going. Writing becomes my medicine for the loneliness here in this salty city.

Here's the survey I came up with:

What does Mexico mean to you? (I'm feeling homesick)

Who are your heroes?

Who are some of your mentors?

What do you think are the most important things in day-to-day life?

What gives you hope?

What does the idea of work /working mean to you?

When? Where? & How? Do you work best?

What's something that you're interested in right now?

How do you view today's youth culture? Differences / similarities with your youth culture?

Talk about your identity.

How do you perceive (take in) the external world and what do you project outwardly into the world?

What are your thoughts on "community"?

How has U.S. culture influenced your identity and how have you influenced U.S. culture?

I realize that this survey might be too lengthy, so I'll send it outasking the person doing the survey if they'd answer "some" of these questions. It'll be both interesting to the see the answers and to see which questions arechosen.
