Smiling, he put his phone away and went to the cafeteria to prepare the coffees before it was time to go to the bowling center. In hand were three coffees: two with a normal amounts of sugar and one with an absurd amount.

   "I'm here."

"Took you long enough," Chris replied.

"At least he brought coffee," Emilia retorted.

Chris sighed, "I would've brought coffee if I knew how to make it."

"So who's winning right now?" Elliot asked.

   "Emilia," Chris rolled his eyes.

   "Figures," he laughed.

"Be quiet. I'm handicapped right now," Chris groaned.

"That's what happens when you're tardy because you tried to get Macobell before school," Emilia chuckled.

"I know! I was fighting for my sanity in first period, I didn't know such pain was humanly possible," Chris sighed.

"Mr. Smith gave him a detention too," she laughed.

   "Really?" Elliot grinned.

"I was just trying to distract him!" he defended. "It's all because I complimented his head. Why was he so angry? I just thought he had a nicely shaped head."

"You don't tell a bald guy his head is perfectly round," Emilia incredulously remarked.

"If I had a head like that, I'd want to be complimented," Chris retorted.

"Too bad you've got that headphone crevice on the top of your head," Elliot smirked.

"I know right," he groaned. "I can't even get a buzz cut because of it. Let alone being bald," he pouted while rubbing his head.

"You look good now," Emilia rolled her eyes.

   "Really?" Chris smiled.

"Don't let it get to your head," she scoffed.

"I wasn't," he sighed. "Why are you so mean? And now I have to worry about the merit project too!" Chris wallowed in self-pity.

"We all have to," she rolled her eyes.

"Whatever! Let's just start a new game since Elliot's here."

"Right, prepare to lose," Elliot grinned.

He hadn't known Chris and Emilia for that long, only since the beginning of high school. Regardless, Chris and Emilia accepted him and the trio soon became inseparable. It was only natural they'd be friends though, each of them hailed from "poor" families compared to their classmates.
