A rapping on your door made you hurry out of the bathroom to open it, only to reveal the light haired Yu with a cheerful smile and the dark haired Masashi with eyebrows furrowed as a brisk contrast to his younger, yet taller brother.

“Good morning, Y/n! Did you sleep well?” Yu's bright voice broke the morning's calming silence and his beaming face brought a little more light to the dawn. He was standing tall in a light button up of silk and pants of a darker, earthy shade with his hair flowing freely atop his shoulders, icy eyes searching you for the answer.

“Yeah,” you nodded in agreement and smiled, a bit embarrassed even though you did not know why.

“Of course she slept well. She probably sleeps in hay back at home.” There was Masashi the best and the wisest. Not sparing him a glance nor giving him the satisfaction of getting a reaction out of you, an annoyed reaction at his stupid comments, you merely only exited the room and began to walk down the passage.

From behind your back, you heard Yu scolding him and a sound which was akin to that of a hitting; the older brother probably got another elbow in the ribs for his remark.

As Yu caught up with you to walk by your side, the darker male pushed himself in between the two of you and walked a step ahead. Unlike his bubblier brother, he wore a button up of dark red, darker than blood, which complimented both his lean, fit figure and also went well with his black eyes and raven hair. Black pants hugged his hips and flared down. From time to time, servants would rush by in their suit for their late morning chores, all bowing to you as they passed.

It didn't take long for you to arrive into the dining hall for breakfast. Yu tried to make small talk with you about the weather or of his strange dream with a goose, while the shorter of the due kept his thoughts to himself and remained quiet. The table was already set as you stepped inside the hall.

Bowls of yoghurt, fruit, cheese, pastries and cold meat filled the table, along with loaves of round bread, vegetables and spreads. A steam was rising out of the tea pot, pitchers of milk stood beside and jars sparkled with clear water as the sunbeams hit the water's surface. There was an orange liquid, too. It looked as if it would be enough for even thirty people, not three by the least.

As you sat in the same seat as yesterday, with Masashi at your side at the corner and Yu coming to sit by your side, you took in all the familiar and unfamiliar scents of the food. All smelled fresh and good.

You took a slice of break into your hands, feeling the fluffy softness of the inside and the crusty crunch of the outside, very familiar to both your eyes and nose.

“Recognize the bread?" asked the raven head, taking his own slice into his hand.

“I do. I did use to help him bake it, after all.” So the prince did meant it; sending a servant down to your village for fresh bread each morning.

The other boy by your side made a quizzical sound. “What's special with the bread?”

“It's from this girl's village. I bought the bakery there,” clarified the dark boy shortly and simply. Well, at least he didn't call you little, now; even such small progress counts, right?

Yu's pink lips formed into an 'o' sign as he nodded, comprehending.

As you began to fill your plate with all the food - somehow feeling guilty that you get such care, while your parents are still stuck in poverty - your and Yu's hands occasionally brushed, to which he'd always cast a sheepish smile your way and a subtle shrug of his shoulders as if to say sorry, even though you actually didn't mind the accidental contact all that much. All throughout this, you failed to notice the glares Masashi sent his brother, with you being too engrossed in tasting everything.
