You felt a hand shake your shoulder and a grumble exit someone's mouth, "For the love of gods, this girl is impossible to wake up."
Your eyes shot open immediately as your head shot upwards, which was a big mistake, as you realized a second after you've done so. You barely had time to acknowledge the dark eyes staring into yours in shock before a sharp pain bloomed in your head as you and prince Masashi clashed foreheads. Or, better, you bumped your forehead against his with such a great force you didn't even know you had in you.
The raven head, kneeling down beside your bed, groaned from pain. He backed away. "So violent," he muttered.
"W-what?" you stuttered out, definitely not expecting such a sight after waking up from your nap. Quickly, your hands lifted up to your head, slicking down the messy strands of hair that had fallen loose from your braid. "What are you doing here?" You meant to make your voice prominent and sharp, but it was still laced with sleep and it came out only as a feeble attempt at defense.
Of course, he can come anytime he wants since he's a prince, you supposed. And frowned.
"I came in when you weren't answering my calls and knocks," the prince explained, motioning with his head towards the door in your wall that leads not into the corridor, but into the prince's own quarters. It meant to serve as an easy way for you to quickly be at his side whenever he'd need, but you proved yourself bad right on the first day - failing to come because you took a nap during work? Really?
Well, he did tell you he won't need you anymore... a meek voice tried to reason in your head.
Involuntarily, your cheeks colored a deep red from embarrassment when you imagined him calling for you and knocking on the door, only to find you sleeping afterwards. You must've sleept real good though, considering you didn't wake up even with those loud sounds going on.
"Get up and change. We're going to dinner," he commanded, dark strands of blue black hair falling on his forehead. He was already on his way to the wardrobe in your room, picking out a dress for you.
Hastily, you got up while stifling a yawn, coming to take the dress from his hand he reached out to you.
For a second you couldn't even be sure that had passed, your fingers grazed his hand and a rush of sparks traveled down your spine. Even though it was just a slight touch, you felt his warmth on the tips of your fingers even as you clutched the dress to your chest. You didn't even properly look at the piece of fabric until it was securely in your arms and the last lingering remnants of electric sparks disappeared.
It was a deep blue that matched the tone of his hair, glinting in the setting sun pouring inside the room.
You looked at him expectantly and kind of nervous for apparently no reason, shifting from one foot to another - you thought he'd leave to let you dress up, but his long legs remained firmly placed against the ground of your room, showing no signs of movement.
He returned your gaze and raised a brow after a while.
Oh.
Oh.
You practically jumped into the bathroom and closed the door, leaning against it from inside the tiled room.
He was a prince. You could not just ask him to leave a room. You were the one supposed to go out of your way, not him. You were supposed to change in the bathroom if the prince wished to stay in your room.
You splashed some cold water on your cheeks to calm yourself, stealing a glance in the mirror - and wishing you hadn't. You winced at the way your hair was still sticking out in different directions, your braid almost completely loose by now. There was dried saliva in one corner of your mouth.
