Come Back To Me

Chapter Four

Lottie and I are in Corfu and today is a total beach day and relaxing with some drinks. We're walking to the beach and we find a spot to sunbathe and set up "We've been here two days you've been flirted with by multiple hot Greek guys and nothing. What's the deal" she says "I've dated in the past it took time but I got there eventually but I've been in love with the same person since I was six years old and I can't get passed that" I say "Seb" she says "Yeah he's my best friend and he'll always be but I can't help how I feel he was the first man I let near me after everything he's my safe place" I say "I think he might feel the same but you shouldn't close yourself off to other possibilities because of a what if" she says "Your right but this vacation is about girl time we're not worrying about boys or anything like that" I say "I'll drink to that" she says and we cheers.

I'm in Rome now and filming has been going good and we have a day off from filming and I'm having a bit of a day. My mom is working so I call the only other person I need right now "Hey how's Rome" he says and I don't say anything "What's wrong?" he asks "I'm just having one of those days" I say "Okay then I'll stay on the phone with you until your feeling better" he says "You don't have to do that" I say "I don't have to but I want to" he says and he does just that staying on the phone with me for hours talking about anything and everything.

We're not shooting until tonight so I'm spending the day exploring the city and I've found a market and I'm browsing the stalls and I find some Christmas gifts for my mom and Seb's as little extras as I ordered most things before I left so their waiting to be wrapped when I get home. I'm sitting later on with a coffee reading a book "A dark contemporary romance fan you don't see many of those around Rome" comes an American accent "You also don't get alot of Americans here this time of year" I say and he's quite handsome "I'm working a year in our Italian offices" he says "An international businessman impressive" I say "I'm Andrew Masters" he says "Ivy Lazarescu" I say "So maybe not fully American" he says "Romanian we moved to the US when I was eight got our citizenship we're dual citizens" I say "Home of Dracula" he says "The one and only" I say "Explains the love of dark contemporary then" he says "I mean if the shoe fits" I say "So are you here for business or a vacation" he says "Business I'm filming a movie here" I say "An actress I should of guessed that or a model" he says and I laugh and check my phone "Speaking of my job I have to go I'm due on set soon. Nice meeting you" I say "You too" he says.

I'm super busy the next few weeks so I have no downtime and I'm exhausted between night shoots and shooting all day I will be glad to get back home soon to relax. I'm in my trailer between scenes when an assistant comes to get me "There's someone here to see you trying to get through security" he says and I follow him and see Andrew "Va bene lascialo passare" I say and they let him pass "Thanks you speak Italian" he says "Don't you" I say "Badly" he says "I do alot of international projects I'm only really starting to branch back into the US this film is in Italian a complete Italian crew so pays to know the language. How did you find us" I say "I asked some people I work with where their was a movie shooting" he says "You went to all that trouble just to see me again I'm flattered" I say "Well how else was I going to ask you out" he says "I head back to the US in a few weeks" I say "And I'm back stateside middle of next year and I heard your coming back here in the new year" he says "For a month to finish filming after the holidays" I say "Then I say we have plenty of time" he says "I'm extremely busy the next few weeks" I say "Then I'll bring dinner to you. Tonight eight o clock" he says "Okay" I say.

Over the next few weeks Andrew comes to set as much as possible and we have lunch and breakfast and dinner. I'm on the phone with Lottie as I'm packing to head home in the morning "I told you not to ignore other opportunities this guy seems amazing" she says "He is. I haven't felt this way for awhile now not with anyone but Seb" I say "How do you think he'll react" she says "He's always happy for me as long as I'm happy" I say "I can't wait to see you" she says "Me too and you can tell me everything about you and Chris" I say they started dating a few weeks ago and she seems really happy their keeping things quiet for now so only friends and family know but I'm so happy for them "See you soon" she says "See you soon" I say and we hang up.

Seb surprises me at the airport when I land "I was expecting my mom" I say "I know but I convinced her to let me come instead. I've missed you" he says "Same there's so much to catch up on" I say "Really Rome was that interesting" he says "Its been unexpected for sure I met someone" I say "Really" he says and his tone seems a little off "Yeah his name is Andrew he's American working over there for a year. We've been seeing each other for a few weeks now" I say "That's great" he says and there's that tone again but I choose to ignore it just happy to be home and back with my best friend.
