Chapter Two

I've been doing interviews the last two days and tonight I'm going on Jimmy Kimmel. I love my outfit for the show and as I'm getting the finishing touches to my hair and makeup a runner delivers me some flowers dahlias my favourite flower and I check for a card "A little birdie told me you were on the show tonight. Here's some good luck flowers and a little reminder of the promise I made but broke but am remaking again. Seb" it reads and there's a small ring box amongst the flowers and I open it and inside is a eternity ring we'd always promised we'd be friends for eternity no matter what. A knock comes on my dressing room door and it's Chris Evans "Hey just wanted to stop by say hi" he says "You wouldn't happen to be the little birdie who told Seb I was on the show tonight" I say "Maybe he mentioned running into you and I've always heard about his amazing best friend and how he screwed things up" he says "He tell you why" I ask "No but he's sorry" he says and we get called for a two minute warning "Nice to finally meet you" he says and he leaves. I slip the ring on just before I'm called to go on.

"My first guest tonight is a international star and an incredible actress she's starring in a new horror film out this weekend please welcome Ivy Lazarescu" he says and I come out and wave to the audience and hug Jimmy before sitting down "I hope I pronounced your surname right" he says "You did it is tricky I've had alot of people mispronounce it since I came to America but you were perfect" I say "You were eight when you came to America what was that like" he asks "Difficult I spoke very little English neither did my mom we were away from everyone we knew but we had each other which was all that mattered then but my mom managed to get her nursing degree and I made friends and we've built an amazing life here and I'm lucky to be able to give something back to my mom now and show her the sacrifice of leaving our home was worth it" I say "Well you've certainly done that I mean you've starred in projects in Germany, Australia, the UK, France all over I am extremely impressed with how many languages you know and speak" he says "I've always been a sponge for languages since I learned English I think I speak eight now including Romanian. I love to travel so I get the best of both worlds when I do international projects" I say "But this most recent one has kept you stateside you shot in rural Georgia in the middle of nowhere its you and Alexander Skarsgård playing this sort of twisted couple which I love. Tell us what its about and why people should go see it" he says "Yeah we do get pretty twisted. First off I love working with Alexander he's just incredible and I'm a huge fan of all the Skarsgård family their just incredibly talented Stellan Skarsgård did good when he had those boys and I'm lucky to have met him and them during this project. This film is a story of the darker side of love and obsession I play this woman who appears to be so innocent and naive at times but isn't in fact all that she seems and she meets Alexander's character and they begin this twisted relationship full of jealousy and revenge essentially I will say its not for everyone but growing up in Romania the home of Dracula and that dark horror genre I love doing these kinds of projects so I hope people will go see it and love it" I say "It is quite a departure for you from the usual drama and romance we see you do but I really liked it as a non horror fan. We have a clip of you and Alexander meeting for the first time in the movie" he says and they roll the clip and we talk some more before we finish up.

I stay and watch Chris's interview and then I head back to my hotel as I fly back to New York tonight. Before I board the plane I send a text to Seb thanking him for the flowers and saying maybe we can meet up for coffee when he's free because even though he broke my heart I still miss my best friend more than anything.

It's a couple of days after that text when he texts me back and we arrange to meet for coffee "Hi I see you wearing the ring" he says "Thank you for that but I don't appreciate you using your friends to get close to me" I say "Chris mentioned you were on the show and I know I said I'd give you space and time but I needed you to know I wasn't giving up" he says "What's different this time you gave up on our friendship before who says you won't do it again" I say "Me I was an asshole who got scared of things that might never happen and things that would complicate our friendship but I'm not scared anymore and I miss my best friend" he says "I miss you too but your gonna have to work to earn back my trust not just with me but my mom too she was pretty angry with you aswell" I say "You don't think my mom was pissed when she heard what happened she threatened to disown me" he says "Serves you right" I say "I will make it up to both of you I promise" he says and we enjoy our coffees and catch up.
