"Are you ready for this?" Ethan asked as he stood in front of the cafe with Katherine. He could hear her heart racing, it was fast and loud like a beating drum and knew she was nervous.

"Yes," Katherine mumbled and took a deep breath. "I got this."

"You got this." Ethan reassured her.

"Are you sure your errand can't wait?" Katherine asked, looking at him.

"I want to but I can't... I'm sorry." Ethan apologized.

"It's okay, I will be fine." Katherine mumbled and looked at the door.

"Text me when you need me, okay?" Ethsn asked.

"I will." Katherine answered and slowly nodded.

"I still have your back no matter what."

"Thank you, Ethan."

"No problem."

"I hope she likes me." Katherine said.

"She would be a moron if she does not love you." Ethan asssured her. "Anyone with half a brain would love you." Ethan said and gave her a warm smile.

"Do you mean that?" Katherine asked as her face softened and she smiled.

"Of course," Ethan responded. "I love-- everyone loves you."

"Noah didn't." Katherine sighed and frowned as she looked down on the ground.

"I wouldn't be too sure." Ethan responded. He cringed, knowing the truth and felt guilty for not telling her the truth. She deserves the truth. She deserves to be happy. Why did I agree to helping him lie? Ethan thought to himself. That was such a bad idea.

"He said he didn't." Katherine snorted.

"Well, now you are on a fun road trip with me." Ethan chuckled, changing the subject.

"You are right." Katherine giggled and nodded.

"Better go in there then." Ethan said and gave Katherine a warm smile.

"Yeah," Katherine agreed. "I bet we look like weirdos just standing here." Katherine awkwardly laughed.

"I am sure we do." Ethan chuckled and their eyes met and they stared into each other's eyes for a few quiet moments.

"Well, you should go and do whatever you have to do." Katherine replied awkwardly, breaking eye content.

"You should go see your mom too." Ethan responded.
