After Ethan drove to a nearby motel, Katherine went to her room for the night, ready to go to bed, leaving Ethan in the lobby to go to his own room. She sat on the bed and turned on the TV, wanting to listen to the TV and get ready for bed. She turned on the news and listened as she got undressed.

"A woman named Maggie Stewart was foumd dead in a trash can with bite marks nearby her work place in Virginia Beach. Police say it looks like an animal attack." A man in the TV said.

Katherine froze and slowly looked at the TV and saw a picture of Maggie on the screen as the realization smacked her in the face. Katherine stopped what she was doing and called Ethan's cell.

"Pick up, pick up, pick up." Katherine groaned as she heard the phone ring.

"Hello?" Ethan greeted, answering the phone.

"Maggie is dead," Katherine said, still stunned. "They say it was an animal attack but I know a vampire killed her."

"Hold on, I'm heading to your room, okay?" Ethan responded.

"Okay," Katherine sighed. She was confused by his response. "See you soon."

"See ya." Ethan replied and hung up the phone.

Why was he so calm? Can't he tell that I am shocked? Was I not clear? Maybe I wasn't. Katherine thought to herself and she waited.

"I can't believe she's dead." Katherine mumbled as she stared at the wall with no emotion.

"I'm sorry." Ethan apologized.

"What if it was some vampire we never met? Stella? Noah?" Katherine suggested. No. There is no way he'd harm a human. He is too kind. Why did I suggest that?

"It wasn't just some other vampire."

"What do you mean?" Katherine asked and looked at him.

"I have to be honest with you." Ethan said and looked at Katherine as she sat on her bed.

"Honest about what?" Katherine asked, nervously.

"I killed Maggie." Ethan admitted with a loud sigh.

"What?" Katherine gasped as her eyes widened.

"I killed Maggie." Ethan repeated.

"What... why? Why did you kill her?" Katherine asked and raised her voice.

"She said all those awful stuff, you came back to me crying." Ethan answered.

"It doesn't mean you had to kill her, you promised me that you had changed." Katherine responded as she teared up.

"Katherine, I did it for you, I care about you." Ethan said.

"Or was it for you?" Katherine snapped.

"What?"

"You don't give a damn about me," Katherine softly cried. "You wanted a reason to kill someone else again and Maggie was your chance."

"You don't know a thing about me, Kat."

"You hate Noah, you were jealous of him for years and over a girl who never loved you." Katherine responded coldly. "You wanted to use me as revenge. I know you still hate Noah, you can't erase years of hate in a matter of months."

"Yes, I hate Noah, he has always had everything he has ever wanted. I hate him for loving you and I hate him because you love him. I hate myself for being in love with you but I am in love with you." Ethan confessed. "Look," Ethan huffed. "Katherine, I never killed Maggie for fun, I killed her because I love you."

"Get out!" Katherine shouted as tears continued to roll down her cheeks.

"Katherine, wait-"

"Just go." Katherine softly cried. "You're nothing but a liar."

Ethan did not say another word but nodded and left. He went straight to his room, feeling broken and defeated. If only she knew. I do hate Noah. I wish she never loved him. But I want her happy. If only she knew I am looking for Noah. For her.
