Chapter 23

"So, why are we here exactly?" Katherine asked and dragged out the y.

"I am sure Zack has a very good reason." Ethan chuckled.

"Oh, I do old friend." Zack responded and gave a quick nod.

"So... why?" Katherine asked and shrugged.

There was no word spoken by any of them as Ethan quickly felt uneasy and worry. Something is not right. Ethan thought to himself. Why do I have a bad feeling about this? Ethan thought some more as the wind blew in his face and he quickly smelled that familiar scent. Stella.

"Surprise!" Stella shouted as she quickly revealed herself to the group out of nowhere as she raised her arms and made a pose.

"You!" Etham hissed and quickly stood in front of Katherine, guarding her from her.

"You really thought you could find, corner and kill me all on your own?" Stella snorted, letting out a cold laugh.

"Told you that I would get 'em, boss." Zack chuckled and looked at Stella.

"I will give you your reward as soon as these two are dead." Stella responded, giving Zack a small grin and looked back at Ethan and Katherine.

"You were helping her this entire time?" Ethan asked as his face fell.

"You should never ever put your trust in a vampire," Stella laughed coldly. "Ethan is living proof."

"You don't know a damn thing about me!" Ethan shouted at her.

"History really does repeat itself, doesn't it?" Stella asked and raised an eyebrow, still grinning.

"You and Noah fall for the same girl." Zack snorted.

"Yet she picks Noah and you are left broken hearted," Stella taunted Ethan and faked a pout. "It is just tragic."

"Why are you doing this?" Katherine asked.

"Because you both are in my way for happily ever after." Stella answered and walked towards Ethan and Katherine.

"Where is Noah?" Katherine asked as she glared at Stella.

"Safe and sound," Stella answered simply. "The details don't matter and you won't need them after I am done with the both of you."

"Stella!" They all heard a familiar male voice yell and Katherine looked behind of Stella and her eyes lit up with joy as she saw him.

"Noah," Katherine whispered softly as he met her gaze and suddenly relief and happiness washed over her and everything in the world seemed right.

Without a second thought, Noah and Zack began to fight. Noah quickly kicked Zack in the stomach making Zack fall back against a tree, letting out a loud groan as Noah vamped after him and grabbed him by the throat.

"Zack, stop!" Stella yelled out her warning and hissed at him.

"No!" Zack growled out and kicked Noah in the gut and threw him the other way, making him knock over a tree as Noah loudly groaned in pain.

"Zack, don't you dare hurt him!" Stella hissed and vamped towards Zack and she snapped Zack's neck, knocking him out and took a thick wooden stick from the ground and stabbed him in the heart, instantly killing him.

"That is the only good thing you have done," Noah groaned as he got up on his feet.

"Well, I was going to kill him eventually." Stella said with a lazy shrug.

"Stella, please," Noah sighed as he looked at Stella. "Please, let Katherine leave and you and I can--"

"Be together forever?" Stella growled out, stopping Noah. "Haven't you fooled me enough?"

"I never foooled you." Noah responded.

"But you told Ethan what our deal was," Stella huffed. "Now she knows!" Stella hissed and she pointed at Katherine as she glared at Noah.

"I am sorry for that." Noah apologized to Stella as he shook his head slowly and frowned at her. "I told him not to tell Katherine a thing."

"Well, good thing it worked out, huh?" Stella sarcastically asked as she rolled her eyes and snorted.

"Stella, there is still good in you," Noah said. "I know it."

"Anthony Stevens killed that sweet girl all those years ago," Stella argued and she shook her head. "I am all that remains."

"Who the hell is Anthony Stevens?" Ethan asked, gawking.

"An old lover of Stella's when she was human." Noah answered.

"My first love." Stella added in a soft whisper.

"Stella, you can't stop this now, let them go," Noah pleaded and walked over to her and held her hands.

"I should have killed her a long time ago!" Stella shouted and she pushed Noah and vamped towards Ethan and Katherine but Ethan vamped towards her and tackled her onto the ground and she tried to fight him off but she struggled as Noah took Katherine and vamped her away from the scene.

"Ironic, isn't it?" Stella groaned as she looked up at Ethan.

"What do you mean?" Ethan gasped and looked down at her as he pinned her down to the ground.

"You were so in love with me," Stella answered and hit her head against his, making him fall backwards and groan loudly in pain and she grinned at him. "Now you are the one trying to kill me."

"The boy who was in love with you is dead," Ethan groaned softly as he rubbed his head. "I killed him, I am all that remains." Ethan said, throwing his words back at her and grabbed a thick stick as he got up on his feet and watched her do the same.

"Good," Stella sighed and nodded. "He bored me to tears."

"Then this should not bother you!" Ethan growled loudly as he vamped towards her, pinned her against a tree and he staked her in the heart and she gasped and looked deep into his eyes.

"Y-y-yu w-were always weak." Stella coughed as she took her last breath and died.

"No," Ethan huffed and shook his head as he looked at her dead body. "I am strong, I always have been strong." Ethan said and backed up away from her and looked at her body as it stayed pinned on the tree and he tilted his head and moved his head straight up. "Goodbye, Stella Pierce, burn in hell." Ethan said grinning from ear to ear and laughed softly.
