dream steps out of his room, immediately being absorbed into the party going on in his apartment. his bedroom door doesn't lock, so he puts a sock on the handle to prevent anyone from going in there and just prays all of sapnap's guests understand the symbolism.

he glances around the state of their apartment, looking very different from how he had last seen it when he retired himself to his bedroom hours before the party had even begun.

sapnap and george 'decorated' before george had left to get ready, but all they really did was throw up some fake cobwebs, some police 'no entry' tape, and stuck some cheap plastic bloody-hand stickers on the windows.

though, of course, there was now the added addition of people in their small apartment. true to his word, sapnap hadn't invited too many people, but there was enough to make dream a little uncomfortable as he left his room and was immediately met by a body brushing against his own.

the person had apologised and dream dismissed them with a simple smile and a nod.

sapnap didn't say anything to dream about dressing up but, because it was a halloween party, it seems as though most people had taken it upon themselves to do something with their appearance. during the short walk to the kitchen from his room, dream already spotted an angel, a cat, and more than one person with pointless trails of fake blood coming out the corners of their lips.

he decides that, whilst this isn't his ideal evening, it's certainly better than going to a club. there's fewer people here, and he knows that everyone in his presence has to be at least partway trustworthy to have been invited in the first place. plus, he likes that he has the opportunity to escape back to his bedroom at any given time.

"dream!"

the blond smiles at his friend's clearly drunken greeting, holding his arms out to accept the hug being offered to him. sapnap squeezes around the blond so hard that the taller boy chokes out a laugh, tapping the ravenette's back.

"where's george?" he wonders as they pull away, watching with mild interest as sapnap mixes him a drink which he already knows will taste awful - vodka and tequila do not mix well.

"uhm..." the ravenette squints, pushing the drink into dream's hands, who takes a sip and hides his grimace. "he went to go make friends!" he shouts slightly over the music.

dream has a suspicion that they're going to get told off by the college accommodation people for the noise but he can't imagine it'll be too bad - they're probably expecting it with a bunch of teens around the holidays, especially when most students have a week off of lectures.

"surely george knows everyone here already?" dream points out, wording it like a question as he furrows his brows at his best friend. he takes a few long sips of his foul drink, telling himself that it'll get nicer the more he has.

sapnap gasps, his face lighting up as he reaches past dream. the blond steps instinctively out of the way, glad that he did when sapnap yanks another man into their space. "dream, this is punz! punz, this is my best friend dream! we're basically brothers."

dream's heart feels warm at the drunken words, and he can't help but smile fondly at his best friend.

sapnap looks back at dream, slinging an arm up over the blonde's shoulders and grinning up at him as he shouts, "punz is gay too!"
