Chapter 37

Mike

Chester missed school all week. It was Friday and he still hadn't showed up. I was starting to worry that maybe he got worse.

During lunch, I ran to the bathroom to call him.

"Hello?"

"Chaz? How are you holding up?"

"Hey Mike. I feel great actually."

I sigh of relief escaped my lips. "Why aren't you at school? You were making me worried!"

"Babe, calm down. I had to take an extra day off so I can have things done for tonight."

"Oh, alright."

"Okay. I'll pick you up at your place. Love you."

"Love you too, see you tonight." I shut my phone and shook my head. I walked out of the stall only to see Phoenix standing outside of it.

"What?"

"MIKE YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE CHESTER EVEN MORE AFTER TODAY!"

"Stop yelling! You know about it?"

He nodded happily, "I was with him when he bought the-" Joe came out of nowhere and clamped and hand over his mouth.

"Bad Phoenix! You need to shut up! Since you almost spilled the beans, you know what that means."

"No!" Dave screamed, clutching his hair.

"Dave, your hair is fucking long. You have to cut it." I looked at the both of them and shook my head.

"I worry about you two."

"What? It was a bet," Joe shrugged.

I waited outside of my house for Chester. But apparently, at the last minute, he wanted the rest of the guys to go too. I don't mind, but what's bugging me is why the guys are so hyper.

"I can't wait!" Joe said jumping up and down. Dave nodded, slowly running a hand through his now short spikey hair.

Rob stood there with Brad, who was beaming with excitement. "I can't believe you guys are seniors, get to do what you want now. I had to get on my knees and beg my mom to let me come with you guys."

Dave patted him on the back, "Aww, don't worry Rob. We still love you even though you're a itty bitty sophomore."

Rob huffed and stuck his tongue out at Dave. "Ass hat."

"That's what I love about Rob. He says the most random thin- look a sock!" Joe ran to the tree and jumped up at a branch that had a sock hanging from it.

I laughed, "Soo...where are we going?"

They all got quiet and stared at me with grins on their faces. "Okay that's creepy stop."

They didn't.

Then Chester finally pulled up with his mom's van. "Sorry I'm late. Mom was late from work...again."

"Thank gosh you're here Chazzy! The guys were gonna kill me!" I said in a girly voice.

Chester laughed, "I'm hoping they didn't tell you where we're going?"

"Nope. I would still like to know though."

"WELL TOO BAD MIKE SHINODA!" Dave yelled. Chester turned and looked at him, "That's the spirit Dave. By the way, nice haircut."

Joe turned to Dave, "I told you it looks fine!" Dave shrugged and ran his hand through his hair again. Everyone hopped into the van and we started to drive into town.
