Anouk's pov

Lieke martens came up to me and showed me her phone.
I took her phone in my hands when she said that I could. She had a private section with only news articles surrounding my name. I went through the Dutch and English headlines.

Everyone's eyes are on Anouk de Leer.

Leah and Katie hadn't been joking. I sighed and sat upright. "I guess it's time for me to tell the world my story huh?" Kim looked at me. "What exactly has happened?" I sighed and decided to go all the way back. Telling the entire story.

"I was only 13 when I met him. I never had any family. As far as I know, I had been dumped as a baby in a container waiting for somebody to find me. That was the moment that I became part of the foster system in the Netherlands. Most of the time I was living in these groups, living with foster families inbetween but no one really wanted me. Getting through that long period, it was hard for me. I tried all kinds of things to get through it, just to keep living. That's when I found my love for football and my love for him.

As a kid, I always loved to just kick the ball around, and when I got to the age of 13, I had somehow convinced the group that I was living with that I should be in a football club. They ultimately agreed after a lot of whining from me. I started to play for this really small amateur club in Apeldoorn, called Victoria Boys. As soon as they saw the talent that I possessed, they put me in with the boys.

It was an amazing first year and football truly saved my life that year. But I also met the boy, at the time, who would ultimately ruin me. He was 16 while I was 13 and he was this kind of prodigy child. Whatever he did, he was good at it. And when he saw my talent, I got his attention. Now I'm not sure if it was my talent or the broken girl that he saw.

He started to come more and more to my matches and even practices, in the background, but he was still there. Then he invited me to watch his games and I was in trance.

I fell for him. I was 13, but he was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. And more importantly, he gave me the feeling like I actually mattered. Something that no one had ever made me feel before. Suddenly, I was becoming somebody and I wasn't just a nobody anymore.

We started seeing each other outside of football and eventually started to go out. No one agreed to our relationship that was starting to form because of the age gap, especially at that age. 3 years isn't a big deal in the adult world, but with 13 and 16, a lot happens.

After playing with that club for about 1.5 years, scouts came to watch me play and eventually Ajax scouted me. The problem with this was that because I lived in a group, I wasn't able to go and I was heartbroken about it. I cried about it to Alex and he comforted me, eventually he managed to persuade his parents into fostering me. He was the reason why I got out of the group and I could suddenly chase after my new future. A future in football. And because of that, I would do absolutely everything for him.

And he realised that.

While I was training and playing for the youth of Ajax, he had gotten jealous of me. In his eyes, he was supposed to be the one that should have gotten scouted. A years later, when I was 14 and he was 17, I started to fall into a dark world.
