Anouk's pov

Tonight is game night at my house. Well, our house. Leah and I were now in the store to do some grocery shopping. "Oh! We need snacks! Definitely snacks!" I yelled excitedly as Leah was calmly trailing behind me. I swear, with things like this, I was lucky that Leah and I were only 2 years apart, otherwise people would be thinking that I'm her daughter.

Ever since the team had agreed on having a game night, I had been acting like an excited little kid when it came to it. Leah chuckled at my enthousiasm. "Calm down babe." I looked at her with big eyes. "How can you tell me to calm down? We literally get the chance tonight to have a cheat day from our diets. It will be so much fun too!"

She smiled at me and despite my arguement, I calmed down, only slightly and matched her in her steps, walking besides her, going at that pace.

I kept that up for a total of 10 seconds before I started to speed up, going through the aisles. I threw all kinds of things into the cart. "Don't you think that we have enough now?" I put the cookies into the cart. "No." She raised an eyebrow. "But Anouk, we literally have 10 bottles of soda, 5 packs of cookies, 5 different kinds of biscuits, we have 5 family packs of chips and we have 4 packs of winegums." I looked at her and nodded my head. "Wait, I will be right back." She reached out to grab my wrist to hold me back but I was already running off. I went back to the sweets aisle and grabbed 3 bars of chocolate. I went back to Leah and put them in the cart. She looked almost disappointed, but when she saw the excitement in my eyes, she still smiled.

"How come that you're so excited for this?" My smile got the tiniest bit smaller. "I've never thrown any real, fun based parties. I mean, I have been at parties but, uhm, those were with Alex. And they never turned out well." Her eyes had grown curious. "Wait, you also never celebrated your birthday?" I shrugged. "No. I don't even know what day I'm exactly born. All I know that it's between the 5th and 15th of December." She gasped and I just shrugged my shoulders. "So basically, I have no idea how to throw a proper party, let alone a game night. So I have no idea how much we all need. And if we turn out to have too much, we can donate the left over food to the homeless shelter."

She smiled gently. "Alright. That sounds good." I smiled at her. "Oh, I also pretty much never played board games so when we get home, you will have to explain our board games to me because I only know video games."

She nodded her head. I looked at her. "We should also get a dog." She laughed. I was confused. "Why are you la ughing at me like that?" She closed the small distance between us, her hands on my hips, her eyes finding mine after laughing, moving her lips close to my ear which made me shiver. "I already have a dog." She smirked and walked back to the cart, leaving me behind in slight shock as she just trailed to the checkout.

What.

I ran after her. "Where is your dog? Why haven't I met him? Her? Yet?" She chuckled. "Her name is Bella. She's staying at my mum's house because we are quite busy with our whole soccer lives. This way my mum can take care of her at all times." I nodded my head. "Alright." She smiled. "The only times when Bella is at mine is when I get injured and I'm out for a while. But I'm hoping that that won't happen to either of us for a long time."

I hoped for that too.

I paid for our groceries and we loaded them into bags, bringing them to my BMW. I opened the passenger door for Leah to get in. She thanked me and then I jogged over to the other side, getting in on the driver's side. I stopped at the liquor store and we got out of the car. I saw a little suspicion in her eyes but I ignored it. I walked in and the guy behind the counter greeted us. I smiled and greeted him back. At least I knew what the best kind of alcohol were. I bought a couple of expensive bottles together with some shot liquor and when we had everything, we got back to the car and loaded them in. Leah got back into the passenger seat and I got back behind the wheel. A silence had fallen over us and Leah was slightly bouncing her leg. A sight that only happens when she's nervous.
