Anouk and Leah didn't know how fast they had to move as they grabbed the essentials and then moved to the car. Anouk got into the driver's side while Leah got into the passenger seat.
Anouk stepped on the gas, hurrying them to the hospital where Jacob was hospitalized.
They were there in record time and all the way, Anouk had tried to keep Leah's mind from wandering into all kinds of spaces because they didn't even know if the accident had been bad. They only knew that Jacob had been involved in an accident.
Anouk parked the car and before she could even turn the engine off, Leah was already out of the car and running into the hospital. As soon as Anouk had turned the engine off, she was sprinting after Leah, closing the distance between them.
They reached the desk and the lady looked over her glasses at them. "What can I do for you?" Leah was just one big panic mode. Anouk gently put her hand on the small of the blonde's back, answering for the both of them. "Jacob Williamson. He has been hospitalized here?"
The lady nodded her head and ticked his name into the computer. "Room 304." Anouk nodded her head. "Thank you." Leah released herself from Anouk's gentle grip and started to run through the hospital towards the room where her brother was.
Anouk couldn't blame the blonde for her behaviour and was quick to follow.
When they reached room 304, Leah put her hand on the handle of the door, suddenly in doubt if she even wanted to see him, just in case that his injuries were severe. She looked at Anouk, fear had never been so evident in her eyes. Anouk slowly nodded her head and with that, Leah opened the door and walked inside, Anouk's hand was back on the small of Leah's back, preparing herself for whatever they would see.
Amanda had been sitting in the chair besides Jacob, who was in the bed, and she stood up, hugging her daughter and her girlfriend.
The two reciporated the hug, Leah's voice shaking. "What happened? Are you okay?" Leah immediately turned her attention on her little brother.
Jacob smiled and held his arms out for Leah to hug him. "I don't even get a hug?" Leah looked at him and immediately hugged him gently. His leg was in a cast. That seemed to be the most damage. His arms and face were covered in small cuts.
"To answer your questions, yes I'm fine. I got lucky. A car swerved my way and I had to avoid them. I ended up in the gutter and I broke my leg. I have some cuts here and there from the shards of glass that rained down on me, but other than that I am completely okay."
Anouk set a chair ready for Leah, who immediately sat down on it, a huge wash of relief went through her body. She really wouldn't know what to do if something would ever happen to her little brother.
She hung her head and buried her face in her hands, resting her elbows on top of her knees.
Anouk didn't really know what to do in the situation, nor would she ever really understand what this family in particular was feeling, but she did know that Leah needed the support. She placed herself behind the blonde and gently massaged her shoulders through her t-shirt.
"How badly is your leg broken?"
Jacob shrugged. "It's nothing too bad really. Just a little break in my shin. It should be fine within 6 weeks."
Leah let out another breath of relief and Anouk felt her girlfriend relax under her working hands. "How are you mentally doing?"
This question surprised Amanda and Jacob slightly and the boy had to think for the right answer, looking into the brunette's eyes.
