Remus is thrown back into the present as he feels Harry break free of his grasp. Harry takes off in pursuit of Bellatrix and all Remus can do is watch. The realization that he is once again alone grips him. Everything he feared as he laid in the hospital bed that morning has come to pass. Although it is very different than Remus ever imagined it happening he is alone. He is the lone Marauder.
"Remus!" Someone dives on top of him throwing him to the floor as a spell blast rockets over them. "Head in the game mate," Tonks says as she jumps back onto her feet firing spells, "or you're liable to lose it."
"Right," Remus scrambles to his feet and stands next to her sending more spells towards the Death Eaters, "Thank you."
Tonks quickly looks over at him grins and winks "don't mention it. After all, what are friends for."
