I can't bring myself to read the old one ever again without wanting to shove myself six feet under - I apologize!

(Nobody's POV)

It was a sunny day. The mist hashira, Muichiro Tokito was sitting under a tree close to the butterfly mansion.

Tilting his head up, his gaze landed on the beautiful blue sky where there wasn't a single cloud in sight.

Giving up his idea of admiring the miraculous shapes of clouds, Muichiro lowered his gaze to stare at the grass.

Anyone seeing him would shake their heads and say something amongst the lines of "no thoughts, head empty". Of course, nobody dared to say it to the hashira's face.

The high rank wasn't a joke, after all.

Though, today was not ordinary.

Muichiro felt weird. Very weird.

He found out something. Something about himself that he never tried to look into before.

He usually forgets everything and anyone for whatever reason, Master said that it was something normal to him.

It had been that way for years from what he picked up from whatever he wrote in his notebook.

But, he discovered that no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't shake off the image of someone.

Kamado Tanjiro.

---

"What is this feeling?"

He often asked himself, hoping for an answer. But, to his deception, nobody was here to give him one.

Was he special?

If so, what is so special about him?

...

He looked familiar.

They became good friends.

And then... His life was filled with what he could call happiness.

It felt like he only came to life after meeting Tanjiro.

----

After some thinking, Muichiro was snapped out of his thoughts by a voice calling out to him.

Lifting his head to look at whoever disturbed his thinking with a glare, he froze.

Tanjiro.

The person he had been thinking about.

What are those coincidences!?

----

The crimson-haired boy's appearance made the hashira tense up, not expecting him here.

How had he not noticed him?!

Was he too lost in his thoughts to keep his guard up, or did his body simply get used to Tanjiro's presence?

"Hello, Tokito-kun!" The boy greeted, letting the corner of his lips curl up into his signature grin. "How have you been?"

Nobody could resist a smile like this one, right, and Muichiro was no exception.

He quickly tried to make up an excuse for his quickening heartbeat.

(Muichiro's POV)

That smile of his always makes me feel something strange. It's sickeningly new.

"I'm good, thanks for asking." I answered in my usual tone, trying to make it slightly more high-pitched. People always told me that I sounded emotionless, something that I can't allow around my favorite demon slayer.

I averted my gaze. The brightness of his smile worked like the sun against an ice cream to me, I feel like I'm melting.

(Nobody's pov)

Visibly noticing how distracted Muichiro looked, Tanjiro raised an eyebrow in concern.

Hesitantly speaking up, he snapped him out of his thoughts once again.

"Tokito-kun... Are you sure? You should know that Lady Kocho would be glad to take good care of you at the butterfly mansion if you aren't in your best state."

Muichiro lifted his head to meet Tanjiro's worried gaze, seemingly still in a daze.

At that, the Demon Slayer kneeled down in front of the hashira, waving a hand in front of his eyes to awaken him.

"Earth to Tokito-kun?"

-

Muichiro, totally lost in whatever was happening in his head, felt a wave of vertigo hit him like a wave.

From this position, he was admiring Tanjiro's face from up close.

Without much of a thought, head empty, he leaned in and placed a kiss against his cheek.

It was a simple press of his lips, but it made Tanjiro's eyes widen. He could feel blood rushing to his cheeks, tainting it a red color.

Muichiro smiled at the sight, pleased with himself before he caught himself.

"What was that just now? It has to be a friendly display of affection. If that's not the case, why would I want to do this?" he let millions of questions run in his head like horses.

What he couldn't bring himself to ignore was how blissful he felt - as if he had achieved something great.

(Tanjiro's POV)

I definitely didn't expect that gesture, but I believe that it's a lot coming from Tokito-kun!

Displays of friendship are so rare coming from him!

I don't think that I'm used to kisses yet, I can feel my cheeks heating up - but I can work on that!
