"Kai, I'm coming to get you. Get somewhere safe."
I was so nervous I nodded until I remembered we were on the phone .
"Hurry ."
There was a loud banging on my door which made my stomach flip in dread. I was no longer in the bath room but had began packing while my father was on speaker phone . As much as I hated to, we needed to be somewhere safe and my dad could guarantee that.
I had packed everything I possibly could for Kennah . My darling was my life and I didn't want to change her routine . After packing a few duffle bags and suit cases I told my dad I was ready.
The door was hit by a force so strong I heard the wood splinter.
"They're here dad, I don't know how many I don't know the plan, I could jump from the terrace or I could fight."
My voice was a whisper but it was still strong and powerful .
"You need to leave. Get a taxi and go to Asher's."
I hesitated my reply, but as soon as the words were out, I knew I had made the right choice.
"I have to fight, no more running from my birthright. You tell Kennah I love her and tell Mars the same, that I'm sorry. Pop I can't run anymore and if you come to help i'd appreciate that but this is it. Bye dad I love you"
Before waiting to hear his response I canceled our call.
Heavenly Father fight for me . I thought of Exodus 14:14 and then of Kennah.
I grabbed my box cutter, still covered in blood and ready to be used I crept to the door.
Looking through the peep hole I saw two very broad and brooding men. One on the phone swearing I wasn't home, the other trying his best to break the door down.
They looked easy enough to kill but after my episode in the alley I couldn't help but be shaken up.
I sat down quickly, my back against the kitchen island and waited . It seemed like forever but the door flies open and the two storm in.
I watched patiently from the reflection of the stove. Give me strength, grant me speed.
One entered the bed rooms to the back while the other came into the kitchen .
He stopped at the island, laying his gun on the table and picking up an apple .
My movements were small flashes , before he had bitten into the apple I had slashed as deep and as hard as I could into his thigh . Slapping the gun away from his reach and grabbing his hair I smashed his head into the table just as Asher had taught Rose and I. Pulling his head back I sliced his throat .
"No!" I screamed as he tried to reach around to me. I snapped left then right and felt as he became dead weight underneath me.
I could hear footsteps nearing . Grabbing the gun I pulled the heavy body onto mine . Gun still in hand I managed to splatter his blood into my face .
The intruder took one look at the scene and cursed . Pulling his phone back out he dialed .
"Coke is dead, so is the girl . Their laying in blood. Sir -"
Before he could get anther word out I had pulled the trigger . Shooting him once in the hand . He instantly looked in my direction and I took the second shot.
Straight through his throat . I couldn't stop firing . The clip was empty but I continued to press the trigger .
His body lay motionless a few feet in front of me and I cried .
