Chapter 12

The hours seemed to fly by. Rosie was so excited she nearly dropped her pot roast on the floor.

She called Asher right away and told him the news. At first I didn't want him to know but then I figured he'd be a great helping hand.

My big brother actually cried a little on the phone , saying something about Mars being over the moon.

I giggled into the line and explained to him what was needed.

Asher took the kids to Rosie's mom who was more than excited to help.

She said she would baby sit for how ever long it took until everything was situated and back to normal .

He failed to mention the evacuation, just that I was going to be unveiling and the kids needed to be watched while we made preparations.

Ash kept Mars and Eli busy with the evacuation. The house was nearly stripped of everything from pictures to bedsheets. They had taken and moved everything into the storage locker we kept on the other side of town.

Rikki and I made tshirts, bought gift boxes and ordered blue and pink desserts.

Rosie was superwoman the entire time , she asked for two conjoining rooms and began her vicious decorating.

Kennah stayed with me, I had made her a tshirt that said 'I've been promoted to big sister.'

And on the back said

'promotion expected in 7 months'

She looked so freaking adorable in her tshirt that I subconsciously rubbed my tummy and smiled.

"Kennah, one more time, what's going to happen tonight."

She repeats what I've told her to do and I smile, pull her into me and kiss her cheeks repeatedly.

Rikki is smiling widely.

"That's going to be me pretty soon."

"You're going to love every second of it."

She nods placing her hand over her scrubs and onto her belly.

I give her a smile and quickly change into my shirt. She smiles down at me and after fixing a stray hair says

"Kai, I'm three months along, I've been thinking about what abuela said, and if you have the warrior then mine is a leader. Emery means leader . Do you think Eli would like that name ?"

" I think Eli would be okay with anything at this point, he's been ready for years now, just waiting on you."

"Really ? He didn't seem like the type."

"Are you kidding ? He was the one we expected to have a kid first , he's always had a way with them. Maybe he just knew you wanted to wait and he didn't push the idea. That and the fact he's had Kennah, Benneth, Sage, and Aubrey to keep him company."

She laughs as I count off the arsenal of kids.

"Yeah maybe so, do you think my version of the unveiling is going to make him happy ?"

I give her smirk and she twirls her hair nervously.

"You could hand him piss in a cup with a card that says, 'this is pregnant pee, trust me I'm positive.' and he would still cry. Seriously though Eli's going to love this."

She nods again and we place the cupcakes in a pattern on the table.

"Momma, can I have one please please please ?"

"Only one , how was school today ? How's Bobby doing?"

I notice her smile drops a little at the mention of Bobby and I almost forget she doesn't want me to know about him.
