As the greenery hit its peak, so did this next phase of our lives.
Along with our skin and bodies, our deepest woes were illuminated by the sun's harsh light.
As we basked and frolicked in the flames' heat, our worries incessantly grew with those same flames.
The brighter the light, the darker the shadows.
We underestimated our shadows that followed us wherever we went, only leaving us to confront them head on as the green eventually began to fade.
Nearing the end of this season, our hearts hammered and thrashed throughout.
Finally their beats aligned as the days started growing shorter and our nights longer.
Like the tides of the oceans, we pushed, pulled and persevered.
Only when the days of our bunched chaos were too long for us to handle did we know...
...that summer has come.
