Dinner with Gabriel was surprisingly... comfortable. We didn't talk about anything personal or laugh a whole lot or anything like that really. It was just so... normal? We didn't have any of that awkward small talk and those silent moments in between bites of food weren't even close to tense since we're all very used to my bodyguard's rather quiet nature.
It was simply... comfortable.
So comfortable, in fact, that we're doing it again this weekend after the Autumn photoshoot.
Speaking of, the idea of it already being the final week of October is absolutely mind blowing to me. I overheard Sebastian ask Asher to grab the coats they've tucked away during summer time. The winter coats. And with winter, comes not only snow, but a certain time of the year that bring back some pretty unwanted memories about a certain someone I've been in close contact with recently.
"Noah, come on," Lucy calls out from her car. She and Jas were running a tad bit late this morning, but we're all here just in time to catch the bus back up the mountain. Much like the practice shoot last week, everyone is still waking up as the sun hasn't even risen yet. Our wonderful bus driver is already stocked with two cups of coffee for the journey up. Smart.
"Coming," I yawn out and wave back at Gabriel who's climbing back into his car. Looking back at the team of people making their way into the bus, I suddenly remember how nauseous I got during the drive last week. I fight back a shiver and wander over to Sebastian to find some comfort, but now all I can worry about is the small piece of toast I had for breakfast and how that won't stay in my stomach for long...
"Hey..." he whispers and leans down to check my forehead. I look up at his furrowed brows and darkened eyes as he straightens himself back up and looks over my head briefly. I can tell that the look in his eyes is him contemplating something. His chest slowly rises and falls as he pulls me closer before he eventually sighs. "Would you like to go with Gabriel, perhaps being in a car would help with the motion sickness?" He offers, and my own brows immediately jump at the suggestion.
Our very protective boyfriend wants me to get in a separate car going up a mountain?
"Are... you sure?"
He shrugs, and his eyes stray back over to Gabriel for a moment. He doesn't seem hesitant, more so contemplative if anything. "Yes,"
I finally turn my head around, happily staying in his arms that are fighting off some of the cold and eye Gabriel who's patiently waiting behind the bus. He's looking down at his phone. The only time his eyes are really off me are when I'm with one of my boyfriends, I noticed; other than that, when he's on the clock his attention is on me to ensure 'the upmost secure protection', or something like that.
"Okay," Sebastian looks back down at me and gives me an encouraging squeeze on the waist.
"I have to be in the bus with Alexis and the team, but I'm only a call away," he gives me slow peck on the head, forehead and then the cheek. At the sound of Alexis and Lucy calling for us again, he reluctantly releases me and makes his way over to the bus. I watch him chat with one of the managers who looks over at me with a nod.
I fiddle with the hem of my sleeves as I make my way over the black car. With his head still down, he doesn't look up until I'm closer to his window. Right as I'm about to know, his eyes widen ever so slightly before he places his phone down and immediately opens the door. "Noah, what's wrong?" He starts looking me over while checking our surroundings.
I can't even help the small chuckle that escapes me as his hand starts checking my hands for any injuries. "I'm fine, Gabriel, I wanted to ask if you would mind having some company in your car?" He stops his antics and looks me in the eye for a moment until something seems to click in his head.
