My lashes tickle my skin as they slowly flutter open at the sound of birds singing right by our window. I feel the weight beside me shift beside me, quickly followed by a train of groans as the three kick and pull to get more comfortable on this early summer morning. In my sleepy cloud, I don't even bother trying to push back my smile at the comfort of it all.
Still, it feels like this morning isn't quite complete. And that thought alone widens my smile even more.
Another groan wakes me up further. Even in their sleep, they can be so grumpy.
Wriggling out of Sebastian's hold, I step onto the wooden flooring and shuffle my way to the bathroom.
"Where're you goin'?" Ash mumbles into the sheets.
"Shower, Hon, go back to sleep," I whisper, and all I hear is a hum before the snore fest continues.
Ruffling my damp hair with the towel, I slowly make my way to the kitchen, phone in hand, and multitask while I make my morning tea.
'Can't wait to see you guys. Still picking me up?'
I grin down at my phone. 'Of course! we miss u'
'Miss you more, the others are still sleeping I assume?'
'Duh'
I laugh a bit as I take a bite of my toast, the sun slowly starting to light up the house. I turn a bit in the chair, pulling my knees up and stare out the window in our kitchen.
When we moved, I was adamant we make sure there's a nice window in the kitchen. This way we have natural lighting around the whole house during the day. As much as I loved the place before, it wouldn't be a lie to say our new home easily exceeded any of my dreams.
Light colors, open space, mezzanine, windows everywhere, a spacious backyard with a manageable garden and three stories.
I'm so grateful for this life we're living together.
Each of us even have our own personal rooms. We love each other greatly and love each other's company equally. And it's okay to openly admit that everyone does need some personal space here and then.
Sebastian's is his office, Asher's is his newly improved gaming room, Julian has his 'calm room' filled to the brim with animal related textbooks and pictures, and-
My phone's ding echoes throughout the space, springing me out of my daze and bringing another smile to my lips. This morning is full of smiles. Alexis loves sending me pictures of wherever she and Alexander end up staying during their summer of traveling.
They refuse to stay anywhere for longer than two weeks. They're trying to see as much as humanly possible this summer. Free from work, obligations and the public eye.
'You're glowing in this picture, Alex,'
'Course I am ;)'
My fingers type as my eyes are busy rolling at her response.
'Where are u guys going next?'
'No clue, we'll find out at the airport tomorrow!'
And just like that, she's back offline. She really is having the time of her life, they both are. And I couldn't be happier for the freshly married couple honestly. They truly found each other. Plus, what better place to enjoy a honeymoon than, well, all over the world?
"What are you smiling at?"
I lean my head on the back of the chair and see Sebastian standing by the stove with his arms crossed over his bare chest, his smile twitching into a smirk the longer I look at him.
