EIGHT

October 17th

"THIS FUCKING CABINET IS BULLSHIT!" I yelled kicking the vanishing cabinet and running my hand through my hair.

"WHY WONT IT WORKKK!" Draco yelled as well

We were both equally stressed over fixing this damn cabinet.

"What are we going to do?!" I said flustered

"I have no idea all we know is that it kills birds" he replied

"Why don't we send me? I can see what's wrong with it?" I suggest trying to think of anything

"Are you mad? It killed a bird! Who knows what it would do to you!" He replied

"I'm not a frail bird I can take care of myself, think about it, this is the fastest way to find out what's wrong with it" I replied

"I don't like it" he said knowing I was right

"Il be fine Draco" I said stepping up to the cabinet

He grabbed my hand as I stood inside "please be careful" he had visible fear in his eyes

"I will" I replied placing a comforting kiss on his lips

He shut the door and I heard him mumbling the spell.

It was dark inside but I could feel myself being pulled backwards towards light.

I looked around to see myself surrounded by white light.

I appeared to be trailing along a concrete path.

I managed to turn myself round to see the path stopped just ahead.

It was all crumbling and seemed to be a massive drop.

The pulling speed up and I felt myself being pulled faster towards the edge.

I tried to fight it off but couldn't.

I was pulled towards the edge where it knocked me off the edge,

I screamed as I scrambled to hold the edge of the deteriorating path.

I latched on with my heart beating uncontrollably.

I looked down to see a bottomless pit.

The only way out was the way I came.

I slid my wand out my pocket and cast 'ascendio'

My body plummeted up onto the path as I hit it hard.

I took a moment to catch my breath.

At least I knew what was wrong with the cabinet.

I picked myself up and began walking back to the cabinet.

I stepped into it and the side closed up again.

I heard it click and the door popped open.

Draco pulled it open and pulled me in for a tight embrace.

"Are you ok?" He asked looking over me

"I'm fine, I know what's wrong with the cabinet!" I replied

"Really! What is it?" He asked

"The path connecting the two is crumbled, we need to find a way to mend it" I answered

"How do we fix a path in a 'corridor' that doesn't physically exist?" He asked

"I have no idea. We need to figure that out" I said

"At least we got this far" he said as he kissed me happily
