Giyuu POV:
I stroked his hair with my free hand before he fell asleep. "It's okay Nemi... Have all the rest you need..." I wipe the tears off his face. I pick him up and I lay him on the bed. I spoon him as I get comfortable. I soon drift off to sleep with him in my arms.
(Middle of the night)
I wake up to soft sobs. I feel a shaking body in my arms. "Nemi..? Baby..? Are you alright..?" I lift my head up to look over him. "Genya..? Is that you..? Did you come back..?" I hear him say through tears. "Nemi... I'm not Genya..." I say in a concerned tone. "Oh..." He tries to wipe all the tears away but they keep flowing out of his eyes. "Don't cry, Nemi..." I sit up and I pull him into my lap, facing me.
He looks away trying to cover his face with his hands. "Don't look away..." I gently turn his head into my direction. "Wanna tell me what's wrong, Nemi?" I cup his face with one hand. He hesitates for a moment before spitting it out. "I had a nightmare..." He wipes the flowing tears. "It was about my past... A flashback you could say..." He coughs. "I-I saw a beast run to my childhood home..." he broke into sobs again before continuing the story. "I-I ran as fast as I could to my house... when I arrived... most of my siblings were already dead... Genya being the only alive... I-I pushed the beast out of the house... wielding two carving knives. I wrestled it until sunrise... I landed a few hits on it..." he started coughing through tears again. I patted his back until he was okay to continue. "It was only then when I realised it was my mother... I stared in horror... Genya had found us, he jumped to conclusions... He thought I wanted to kill mother... he called me a murderer, monster... then we parted ways..." he smiled through tears. "He's right though... I am a monster..." he chuckled. "Don't say that, Nemi..." I wipe his tears with my thumb. "Never say such terrible things about yourself again..." I pull him close. "I'm here for you, remember that please..." I lay my head on top of his fluffy white hair. He sobbed into my chest as I caressed his head and back. "Shhh... It's okay..."
