Marcus turns to check the empty bottles on our table. "Do we need more drinks?", he asks.

"I'm not drinking anymore.", I answer with a small shrug. "So won't be needing anymore for me."

"C'mon, you can handle one more.", the male tries to cajole me before raising the only remaining bottle.

With a soft laugh, I place my hand over my glass to stop Marcus from refilling it, saying, "No thanks, I don't want to end up like those two." I gesture toward the dance floor without looking. I don't want to catch even a glimpse of Logan and Gwen dancing together.

"Gwen's mother is part-human. That explains her low alcohol tolerance.", Marcus explains with a shrug as he tries to remove my hand from my glass. I resist before picking the glass up and moving it further out of reach.

"I'm driving tonight. No more refills.", I say firmly.

"I'll take one.", George interjects as he moves his own glass closer to Marc, with the latter smiling and filling it back to the brim. "Thanks."

"Be careful", Jade warns with a concerned expression. "You and Gwen are both lightweights." Without hesitation, the small brunette flashes his partner a smile and immediately starts taking quick gulps from his glass. However, Jade swiftly grabs it out of his hands before saying, "Stop, we have a flight tomorrow. I don't want you to suffer from a hangover. I'll finish this for you."

"Aww...", the younger male pouts but doesn't protest.

Instead, Marcus puts the bottle down, redirecting his attention to me once more, and says, "Wait, I just remembered! Your partner for the night!"

"Ugh", I exhale in exasperation with a face-palm. "Seriously, man, learn to read the room.", the raven-haired male shakes his head.

"Huh?", the former male raises an eyebrow and looks back and forth between Jade and me. "What do you mean?"

"He clearly doesn't want to hook up with a random woman. He has been looking uncomfortable with this topic throughout the night. Did you really not notice?", the dark-skinned hunter raises an eyebrow, speaking with a reproached tone towards his friend.

"Wait, really?" Marcus asks, turning towards me and leaving his friend to shake his head in dismay. When he focuses on me again, he asks, "Dude! If you really didn't want to hook up, why didn't you say so?"

"Technically speaking—", George puts in, "—he did ask you and Gwen to quit it already, but you both refused to care about his discomfort."

"I guess that's true. Such a waste of time...", the blonde lets out a long-suffering sigh before shaking his head

In any case, we'll be leaving in five minutes.", Jade informs. "I still need to help George pack. We'll be away for about a week.", he adds

"Well, make sure to enjoy yourselves as well. Don't become a workaholic.", I say, with the remark aimed at the specific male who is lost in the haze of drinking and dancing with Gwen. I ensure to keep my back toward the dance floor so as not to see them in such a compromising position.

Jade snickers before shaking his head, "Don't worry", he says with a shrug. "I would rather perish than treat my job as anything more than it is.", he adds with an air of nonchalant indifference.

"But we are going to work harder.", George interjects, adding, "Jade has already enlisted us for a series of hunts in his city. Given that we have only a month to achieve silver, we will try to raise our score as much as possible."

"But it's a bit unfair for you.", Marcus addresses the brunette. "You barely turned nineteen."

"I'll be fine.", the younger male says, waving off his concerns. "The threshold for silver isn't that difficult."
