"Do you need to use a crossbow though?", Marcus tilts his head as he inquires the silver-haired male standing next to me. I have my own weapon lowered down as I observe Logan load his crossbow using his feeble hand and then lift it with his left one. "Aren't you already working with guns?"

"You know him, fellas.", Gwen remarks while shooting the moving cardboard targets with her compound bow. "He probably intends to excel with all and each weapon conceivable."

With a whistle, the bolt departs the crossbow, directed at the stationary targets before me. My attention follows it, eyeing it land in the dirt. I bite my lower lip and glance at Logan's face. The hunter narrows his eyes at the outcome before delivering his left arm a sharp shake. "Heavy?", I inquire, familiar with the frustration thoroughly.

"For my left arm—", the male picks up another bolt, loading it in, "—yes."

I nod, understanding. Logan prefers to employ a single arm while standing sideways, I know. But his non-dominant limb isn't accustomed to the recoil and the weight of the device.

"In that case, wanna experiment with mine?", the blonde male steps over, retrieving his own crossbow out of his backpack. With a flick of a trigger, the limbs of the weapon fire to the sides, locking up in their position. "It's a customized lightweight bow, ideal for when one's carrying too many things on them."

My partner raises an eyebrow before accepting the offer. I take the one Logan is holding so he can use Marcus's. "It's intended for double-grip.", the silver-haired hunter points out but continues using only his left arm to aim and shoot. The result, however, is significantly better. The bolt penetrates the second ring.

"Yours isn't?", I inquire, tilting my head while our friend jogs away to retrieve our bolts.

The male simply swaps the devices with me, gesturing to me to give it a try. "No, it isn't.", Logan answers as I load the lightweight crossbow, already noticing the difference. It's gentler on my arms to hold the stance I utilize to shoot. "The weight allocation depends on whether the weapon is meant for single-grip, double-grip, or switch-grip. Mine is switch-grip since I obtained it prior to choosing a permanent form."

I give him a hum while I aim. A single tug at the trigger and the bolt is dispatched directly to the center of the target. "Damn", Marcus murmurs as he spots the faraway target I shot. "You seem to be performing better with it than I do."

"You do seem to be performing better.", Logan comments and I turn to him. His brows are slightly furrowed, as if pondering something. "Is it taking any toll on you?", he asks.

"Not really."

The hunter hums, "Then you should buy a similar one. Marcus can give you the description for the custom build."

"Yeah! I have the thing in my previous orders' list.", Marc offers, "I can help you obtain it."

Shaking my head, I hand him back his weapon, "I'm afraid I'll have to do a rain check on that. I'm low on funds at the moment."

"Wait, really? Again?", the blonde male blinks in disbelief. "Dude... You have spending issues, I'm telling you!" He whirls to Logan, "You have to stop him! Collen is always low on money!" My partner lifts an eyebrow at me and I motion my hand dismissively. After all, I know where most of my earnings are going.

And it's for a good cause.

"Anyway, wanna head to the café after this?", Marc asks, loading his crossbow while I focus on the targets once more. "I'm quite starving."

"You're always starving...", Gwen remarks and we chuckle. Immediately after the lesson concludes, the four of us enter our vehicles, en route to the café. Snickering and laughing at the joke Marcus made, we enter the structure. Logan takes his place first, and as conventional, the light-haired male occupies the opposite couch.
