It's been 5 months since Lena's death. All of us were miserable for the next few days after her death. It almost took us more than a month to get over her death. We yearned for her a lot. It's still unbelievable for me that she is not with us anymore. But unfortunately now she is just a sweet memory that will last till we do.

I was sitting at my study table, making notes. My exams were near, 2 years of
college would be over. I suddenly heard a glass breaking noise from downstairs.
My head snapped in the direction of my room's door. 'What was that?' I stood up
to go down.

I came down to see my mom and dad sitting on the couch, my mom crying. "Mom dad, what's the matter?" I hurriedly went towards them. "Mom, why are you crying?" I looked at my father and saw him holding a note in
one hand and a stone in the other.

"Dad, what's that?" None of them said
anything, my mom just sobbed. I rubbed her arms to comfort her. "It's-" My dad started to speak but stopped. I abruptly took the note from his hand and was shocked to see it. "You're dead." it wrote. "Dad, what...?" "Nothing, dear." "What nothing? It's obvious from this note that you received a death threat, and you are saying it's nothing?" He sighed.

"Rose, go back to your room." "No, I won't! Why aren't you both telling me the truth? Mom, at least you tell me, who sent this and why?" She wiped her tears, "Your dad-" "Honey." My dad stopped her from saying. "She needs to know. She's not a kid anymore." I just looked at them, perplexed. "Rose, your dad has been receiving these for a month. His rivalries are sending him the threats. First, they threatened him at his office, and now they have reached our home." She sobbed at the last line.

"The profession I follow is full of risks, so it's normal to get a death threat. Don't worry." "Oh really, dad? But you never received any threat in these 17 years, so why now?" "Rose, it's okay. They wouldn't do anything." I sighed, "Why are they doing this?" "Because I refused to sign their contract."

"Contract?" "Yes. Just know that I rejected their 'contract', so now they are after me." He said, air quoting the word contract. "Oh." I looked at my mother, "Mom, calm down. You'll get sick." I stood up and brought two glasses of water, "Drink it, guys." "Thank you." 'I hope nothing happens.'

"Why do these problems never end?" I spoke while sitting on my bed. "I'm tired." I yawned. "Good night, Rosabella." I drifted to sleep.

I got ready for my college and went downstairs. "You won't go to college today." "But why, mom?" "Just don't. Your dad is also not going to his office." "But mom-" "No buts, Rosabella. You saw yesterday your father got a death threat. What if they'll target you to try to reach him? It's not like they wouldn't have thought about harming us, right? This trick might be old but still a very convenient and effective way to get things done." Her eyes watered.

I ran towards her, "Mom. Okay, I won't go. Happy?" "Good." "I'm hungry, can we have breakfast? Where's dad, by the way?" "He's bathing, he'll be here in a few. You sit down, I'll serve the food." "I'll help you." I threw my bag on the couch and went inside the kitchen.

"So boring." I heaved a sigh. I didn't know what to do, I neither wanted to study nor play piano. "What to do? Should I watch a series or a movie? Nah, not in the mood. Then what?" I groaned. My parents, especially my mother, have been a bit scared since yesterday's incident. "Let's watch something." I unlocked my phone to watch something when I received a call from Rey. I picked up the call.

"Hello." "Hey, how are you, Rose?" "Fine, you?" "I'm fine. Rose, can we meet?" He asked. 'Huh? Suddenly?' "Okay, but when?" "Today." 'Mom said no going out.' "I'm sorry, it's not possible today." "Is there any issue?" "Yes." I told him everything that happened last night.
