Junmin watched as Sumin, Hunter, and Hyunwoo spoke at the end of the room — he couldn't pick up the topic of the conversation, but Hunter seemed particularly sad. Sumim kept patting Hunter's back empathetically — did something happen? Hunter was rarely sad, so something big must've happened.
"See you after the mission."
Hunter waved his hand to the two as they left, guns in hand as they left on a mission. The tall boy sighed as he sat across from Junmin, face illuminated by the blue hologram screens on the desk. Junmin showed a cheeky smirk, and Hunter glared at him straight away. "So you took it too far, it seems."
"Stop spying on us through the cams," Hunter snapped, crossing his arms angrily across his chest. "Minjae h— Minjae-nim put me out of commission for a bit until I... reflect on my actions."
"Well, what did you do?"
"You didn't watch us on cams?"
"I know my limits, Hunter. Tell me what you did."
Hunter sighed softly, glancing up at the other sheepishly. "I... I kissed him."
"You fucking idiot."
"I know!" Hunter exclaimed weakly. "I know, I'm an idiot, I shouldn't have done what I did. You have to see it from my perspective — I am madly in love with him. I thought kissing him would help him change his mind, but... it only made him angrier."
Junmin shook his head, leaning back in his seat as he thought carefully. "Well... you fucked up — we know this. You know Minjae doesn't fall in love. If he does, he ignores it until it goes away. Falling for him was the first mistake. Don't you realise that Minjae hyung is the most serious one here?"
Hunter put his head on the desk with a fake cry of pain. "I'm such an idiot...! I definitely ruined any chance ever with him. He probably hates my guts. He probably hates me! Hyung, do you think he hates me?"
"Definitely."
"Fuck."
Junmin laughed, shaking his head. "Give it some time. He doesn't want to communicate with you because rather than it being extremely awkward, he probably thinks that you'll try to create more windows of opportunity for yourself."
"I think I've learned my lesson this time. He tried to shoot me."
"... oh." Hunter pouted and put his head down on the desk again. "There's no hope, Hunter. He knows you'll be annoying about it, as you've always been, so he wants you to think back as to why he keeps calling you childish, selfish, and all these bad words. Do you know why he keeps saying these things?"
"... because I always pushed my feelings on him instead of acknowledging that he doesn't feel the same."
"There we go," Junmin smiled, resting his head on his hand. "Don't apologise just yet. Follow his rules and do as he says. For now, show that you're sorry through your actions. He's going to ignore you for a while."
"I know..." Hunter sighed, tapping his fingers on the desk. "I guess love isn't meant for me."
"Not with Minjae hyung, anyway," Junmin chuckled. "In any case, you're back to being my full-time assistant until further notice. We need to assess K's signature and give him access to the building. We also need to replace the chip in his comm device with a custom XIKEY chip."
"I'll do that while you deal with his signature," Hunter said, standing up from the desk. "Can you call him, though? He's probably with Minjae hyung, and I don't want to... be around him right now."
"I brought him for you."
Junmin and Hunter turned to the door, watching as the pair of brothers walked into the main room. K waved his hand at the two, but they could barely greet back. They had known K to be one of the worst people alive, so being friendly with him felt unusual.
