"Motherfu—"
"Hands up." Yujun pointed his gun at the man at the table, sitting down at one of the chairs. The man fearfully held up his hands due to being unarmed at that moment. "Where's K?"
"... K?"
"Your leader," Yujun said flatly. "He really injured one of our members. I'm just looking for him so that he can apologise."
"H-he's not here..."
"Well, obviously," Yujun giggled, tilting his head. "That's why I'm looking for him, silly. So tell me — where is he?"
"I-I can't say."
Yujun hummed, pointing the gun at the man's hands. "Which one do you write with?"
"H-huh? Left."
Yujun immediately shot the man in his right hand. He screamed and screeched in pain, holding firmly onto his hand to prevent bleeding. Yujun walked over to one of the tables by the side of the room, picking up a scrap notebook and a pen. He then tossed it to the table in front of the man. "There. If you can't say it, write it."
"You're crazy," the man hissed, flinching when Yujun pointed the gun at him again.
"I can shoot again if you'd like. You have thirty seconds."
The man hesitantly picked up the pen, scribbling down words slowly on the piece of paper. Yujun counted the seconds, frowning when he passed thirty seconds. The man dropped the pen, and Yujun took the page, quickly gazing over the words.
"You took a bit too long," Yujun said, aiming at the man's lower body. "You took 36 seconds."
Yujun shot the man in his left kneecap, right shin, lower abdomen, right shoulder, and left hand. The man could not stop screaming with each bullet that penetrated his body. Yujun quickly reloaded the pistol and pointed at the man's head, shooting one last time.
"He's not too far from here," Yujun muttered, glancing at the piece of paper once more. He sauntered down the corridor, keeping his eye out for any other members of Ghosteye. He carefully manoeuvred his way over the bodies he had already killed — numerous amounts of them.
Yujun's comm device rang in his pocket, and he quickly picked up. "Yujun, you fucking idiot! Where the hell are you?!"
"Relax, Seeun," Yujun answered, firing at a sneakily peeking head from around the corner. A body fell to the ground, blood trailing down the staircase. "Just doing a small self-mission."
"We don't go on solo missions unless Minjae assigns one," Seeun's panicked voice rang through his ear. "You're in deep shit when you get back. What if you get injured?! You're supposed to have Sumin with y—"
"I'm fine, Seeun. I'm not dead yet."
"You should've had backup, at least. What i—"
"I've survived on my own for years. Don't worry about me. If you're so worried, come back me up. I'm in quadrant B, Deogim District right now, but I'm on my way to Saesol District."
"Are you planning on killing K?"
"..."
Seeun heaved a heavy sigh and Yujun could tell that he was shaking his head. "You know Minjae hyung is gonna freak when you come back."
"I'm sure he'll meet me halfway," Yujun said softly. "This place is empty already. Hm. I wonder why."
"You killed all of them..."
"I won't kill K myself," Yujun said with a slight laugh. "I'm helping him. K's not too far from where I am. I already mentioned the location. I don't know what he's doing yet — I'll let you know when I get there."
"Yujun, you can't go there on your own."
"Why not?"
"K will kill you before you can kill him."
"I'm not going to kill K — Minjae hyung wants to do that on his own. I got rid of most of the excess members and shot out the security, too. There was some middle-aged man here, but... not anymore."
Seeun gave a heavy sigh. "Yujun—"
"Tell Minjae hyung K's location. I'll take whatever punishment afterwards. I've done what I can."
"Yuju—"
The other hung up quickly, placing his pistol in the holster on his thigh before making his way out of the building. His comm rang once more from an unknown ID. He picked it up, pressing it to his ear.
"You killed all my men."
"The women too, I dont discriminate," Yujun added with a little smile. "You're the infamous K. Minjae hyung's... brother. Right? Can I call you that?"
A laugh resonated through his ear, ticking him off ever so slightly. "Wow! So they weren't kidding — Jeong Yujun really is the wonderboy of the drifter world. Let me guess — all the rumours are true?"
"Most, I'd say," Yujun hummed, nodding his head. "I'm... good at what I do. But Ghosteye? Big, angry Ghosteye? I wouldn't have dreamt of taking you guys out. But one person was enough to break everything apart."
"Minjae won't be too happy if I kill you, right? Stay right where you are for me, hm?"
"I'd say that it's too late for you," Yujun said. "All your backups are gone. It shouldn't be too hard to take you out, I suppose. So why don't you stay right where you are, okay? I'll meet right up with you."
"Hah, you're a little shit, aren't you? Fucking bastard—"
"Ayy, let's speak nicely with each other," Yujun interrupted, a small laugh erupting from his throat. "I'm not here to hurt you. I'm here to take everything away from you. There's not much left of your base, in any case. Dead bodies everywhere. It's gut-wrenching, really."
"I'm going to take your life before Minjae takes mine — I promise it. Both of us aren't going to get out of this."
"I'd like to see you try, hyung. Can I call you that? Or do you prefer... Yudai-chan?"
"..."
"I'm going to ruin everything for you."
"Why? It's a feud between Minjae and myself, why are you—"
"What, are you scared? I'm just a kid. Heck, I'm 8 years younger than you! Besides, you involved Jinsik, so I'm afraid I have to get involved," Yujun said with a sigh. "Minjae hyung does his best for his members. He's like an older brother to me. Something that I never had growing up. And you haven't appreciated him as a younger brother. I won't let you occupy his mind like this and drive him to fear. It's time for you to go."
"Tch. You're crazy, kid. You won't be able to touch me."
"Then don't listen to the rumours, I guess," Yujun hummed. "Hide while you can. We're coming for you. And I'm not scared of losing my life, Yudai-chan."
The line went dead. Yujun turned the comm device off, slipping it into his pocket as he exited the building grounds. He rolled his eyes in irritance when the device rang for a third time. He picked up — it was Minjae's ID. He picked up, not saying anything because he expected a scolding.
"Not going to say anything, Yujun?"
"I have nothing to say."
"Hehe — cheeky little bastard. I'll deal with you when I come back. I'm quite pissed right now. No one has defied me like this. Feels new, and I don't like it. I shouldn't have been so nice to you."
"You're right, because now I have expectations from you. You like me, though, so let me off the hook this time?"
Minjae scoffed. "You have one hour to return to base and go on the IDYPIA mission. If you're not back before that, then you're not off the hook. I'm timing you."
"Head to Saesol District in quadrant B. He's there. Don't know the exact location, but... you'll find him there. Just interrogate someone, I'm sure you'll get him."
"Thanks, right-hand. 58 minutes remaining."
And just like that, the line went dead again.
