CHAPTER NINE - DINNER

The Daicoses house was so different to what Ash had expected, when the Josh drove into the driveway and parked the car the boys were the first to hop out. Josh and Nick sat in the front seat whilst Ash and Jack sat in the back. When Ashley was about the hop out of the car and open the door Nick did so first, opening the car door and holding his hand out the help Ash out of the car. She took the kind offer as Nick help her out and held his arm out for her to take which she did so gladly. When Ashley finally stopped looking into Nicks eyes, she sore Josh and Nicks parents standing watching the whole thing. Ashley blushed out of embracement and began to walk towards Peter and Colleen.

"It is lovely to the you four" Colleen spoke first, she had a grin on her face, Ashley couldn't tell if it was because she was happy to meet her and Jack or if it was because Nick was with a girl, but she wasn't really focused on that. Ashley was trying to make shore that she didn't embrace herself or break something. As her and Nick neared the door Peter invited them in.

"It is lovely to finally meet you Jack and Ashley" Peter explained as he shook Jacks hand and gave Ashley a huge.

"Same to you, Josh and Nick always tell us about you guys" Jack said.

"Yer, Nick is always saying how my cooking is almost as good as yours, so I am excited for dinner" Ashley said trying to be polit and not sound rude.

"Well good thing that we are having dinner together, we'll be eating roasted chicken, and pork with a Christmas salad, I need your help finishing it up" Colleen spoke with a grin.

"Sure, Mrs Daicos" Ashley responded to the kind offer.

"Please call me Colleen" she grab Ashley's hand dragging her off of Nicks arm to the kitchen.

Dinner was amazing and full of delusions food and hilarious story's, well hilarious for Ash and Jack but entirely embracing for Josh and Nick. Ashley and Jack were in hysterics as Nick and Josh had their heads in the hands trying the hide their faces. Colleen and Peter seemed like amazing parent, always there for support and guidance, Ash could see why Josh and Nick had turned out the be amazing and kind men. When the table finally went quiet for the laughter Colleen spoke up.

"So, what about you two" she said gesturing to Jack and Ashley, "what was your childhood like?".

"Not too different to Nick and Joshes, we went to school together played footy and hang out with each other" Jack said smiling at the fond memories of him and Ash back home running around and coursing all sorts of trouble for teachers, students and the town.

"And Ashley, have you ever dated before?" Colleen asked.

"Yer, me and Jack tried for a week and then realised that we were better and friends" Ash smile at the funny week that was. She looked over to Nick who sat beside her. When she said yes, he had looked down and lost his smile but when she said she was no longer dating the child like smile immediately returned.

Colleen and Peter had noticed the way the two looked at each other and wondered what was going on so they looked at the two's roommates. Josh and Jack just gave them a we know and are trying look which the Daicos parents immediately court and understood what was going on.

"Well let's get dessert" Peter said to which the boys agreed to, Ashley stood up the go and help Colleen prepare. As the left the dining room she could feel the boys watching her as she left waiting for her to disappear around the corner before talking again. As Ashley enter the kitchen, she went to help Colleen prepare dessert, a minute of silence had passed before Colleen finally spoke again.

"So back to the dating question do you have eyes in anyone at the moments?" Colleen question Ashley. The question had Ash stop and think for a moment, did she? She thought about her feeling towards her friends, Jack was like a brother to her, Josh was the no friend who you loved but weren't super close this yet and Nick... Nick... Nick? Nick was not like a brother, but not a friend. She cared for him deeply, more than fiends, she hadn't really thought about it, but she did love him in some way.

"Well, I don't know" Ashley said.

"And what does that mean deary" Colleen was many questions running through her head.

"Well, I have met this boy, not very long ago and though we haven't known each other long I just, well really really like him I guess" Ashley responded, she didn't say the name but didn't exactly try to hide it either.

"Well, if I were you, I would take your shot" Colleen suggested before handing over some dessert to take to the boys. Little did Ashely know the same conversation happened in the other room between the boys, though they said nothing about it. The rest of the evening went smoothly, and the night finished around 10.30 after lots of banter and talking. As Peter and Colleen waved goodbye to the four Ashley couldn't help but think about Colleens questions. Did she love nick? Didn't he love her?

A/N - I worked really had on this chapter so I hope you guys enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoys writing it. It is much longer than previous chapters so sorry if it was to much, and I hope you liked the outfits they were wearing. Let me know if you've got ideas or if I should change things!
