It was hard moving from a place that she knew so well but in the end, she would look back and its be the greatest decision of her life. Ashley was nervous at fist to move but quickly found a lifelong friend in her new home.
Ashley Lewis and Jack Ginnivan had been the best of friends since year 5 when Ashley family and moved from Adelaide in south Australia, to Castlemaine in Victoria. The two had instantly made friends and since that point have been inseparable. Their friendship had really taken off when they had stared there first year of high school, sure starting year 7 was tough but the two had quickly found their place playing sport for their local club.
Jack had always had a thing for football and quickly became the best play by the time he had finish school was drafted to play for Collingwood. Ashley had originally stared with soccer but eventually the football coach for the local footy club talked her up and convinced her to play girls football. She was so good that she already had offers to join state woman's football teams by the start of year 12. But the only club that interested her was Collingwood, not only was Jack going to go play footy for them as well but her had always been a die-hard Collingwood supporter.
Before Ashley and Jack knew it, they were packing Jacks car to move of the Melbourne and start they life as sport stars. The two remembers the day so clearly, they had packed the car the night before with the last of their stuff. The next day the two were having a teary goodbye to their parents with many hugs exchanged. Ashley remembered she father telling Jack not to let anything happen to me and then jack saluting him before ethe two embraced.
The car ride from Castlemaine to Melbourne was long but could have been worse, honestly the two just sang songs on the radio and chatted about their plans for the next year. There were on the outskirts of Melbourne city driving to the place they would be staying.
"So ... I know I should of told you before we left" Jack had started to say with a worried and anxious tone of voice "but I couldn't find a place to stay that was close enough the training grounds"
Ashley hade turned her head to face him, that worried her, if they didn't have palace to stay then where were they staying? "Sooo .... where are we staying?" her eyes were wide open as she faced Ginni.
"Well see I have these mates of mine Nick and Josh Daicos"
Ohh, I know them Josh got drafted a few years ago and nick allowing with Ginni had been drafted this year, Ashley thought to herself less worried about what Ginnivan would say next.
"And they have this massive place which is literally only like 10 minutes away from our training grounds." Ginnivan continue to speech. "so I gave them a call when we had moved our first lot of stuff across and they said that we could stay with them for the year". He had a worry look on his face like Ashley was about to freak out.
Ashley just laughed to herself before saying "Ginni relax, that is fine, there your teammates and given that the Collingwood Woman Football team and footy club are located at the same place this is great". She smiled at him, and Jack had finally let the breath he was holding go.
"Oh that's good" he signed
"Haha, so where do the daicos's live" she smiled not realizing that she would be living with future super stars.
Ginnivan laughed, "Right here" he said while pulling into a drive way.
