The red gargoyle known as Brooklyn was gliding around New York on his own this night. He didn't go out on his own very often due to the Quarrymen being out all the time hunting his kind, but he had felt the need was urgent to just get out of the castle to clear his head.

Brooklyn was the clan's Second in Command, but he found little pleasure in having this title as it didn't do him much good lately. Goliath had been on his case about some mistakes he had been making, but he was also tired of seeing Broadway and Angela's lovey-dovey behavior too. He desired Angela for himself but he wouldn't betray their trust in him that way. All he could hope for was finding the right female when he found her. He hoped for a gargoyle mate, but with them not being so common, he might be willing to be with a human woman too, like Goliath with Elisa; but that was slim to none as most humans were afraid to death of him with his appearance, that resembled a devil creature, but he was nothing of the sort.

The red male had told his little green brother Lexington while he been working on some science gizmo that he had to get out to clear his head. He would be back before dawn. "Ok, Brooklyn, just be careful." Lex said, going on working.

Brook didn't know if Lex had heard him. He assumed he had, so he had taken off.

Broadway and Angela were out on a date. Goliath, Hudson, and Bronx were out patrolling together tonight, so most of the clan wouldn't know he was gone. He just planned to be back at sunrise. He was good about that usually.

Brooklyn had by now made it to the far side of Manhattan, just thinking about how his life was currently. He wished he knew how to change things. He was also just looking out for trouble on the streets too, but it seemed rather quiet tonight, or just on the side of Manhattan that he was on.

"What does it take to get some action in this big city?" Brooklyn asked himself aloud.

Unknown to him, there were some others wanting a gargoyle to experiment on too, if not several. Watching through night vision goggles, there was a man who saw him. "Perfect. One that is alone. He'll do." The masked man said smugly. "Get ready to move in." He said into his radio.

The man didn't know where the gargoyle would land. He was coming this way, so he had to act fast. He took aim at the passing gargoyle.

Brooklyn had no idea he was being watched. But he didn't sense the flying dart that suddenly came out of nowhere and landed in his left thigh. "AGH!" He cried out in pain.

He looked down and saw something sticking out of his leg while grasping it. He knew he had to land before he started falling. Luckily, he wasn't too far from a roof landing. He flapped his wings to land on the rooftop before he got a look at the thing in his leg. It was a dart.

"What the?" He questioned, but then his vision began to get blurry. This wasn't good. He couldn't let himself get captured. But he was in no condition to glide now until he knew he had to sleep this off. He hoped he was in a safe enough place to wait it out.

Brooklyn tried to fight the drug. He started going down. "Ugh, must- stay- awake..." He tried pulling himself toward a wall. His leg was now going numb on him.

There were some footsteps being heard. "Oh, but I'm afraid you'll need to take a little nap first." He heard an unfamiliar voice.

Brooklyn turned, panting. "No, stay... away..." But then he fell onto his right side, out cold as his consciousness gave out.

The human men came upon the red gargoyle and took off their masks. "It's the red one." One of the men declared.

"Good. He was the most exotic looking of them all. He'll do perfectly for my new experiment." The lead man smiled. "Bring him."
