Life Changing Circumstances

Part 46

Time passed.

That October, Sienna and Kenji turned a year old and were introduced to some soft solid foods. They were aging about the same as regular gargoyle hatchlings despite their human halves.

They were surprised at how well they liked this new food. It was tasty. It was chicken and bananas, separate baby foods. Each parent fed one kid.

The clan was there to see how the little ones took to it and were pleased. Now they could start to feed them other foods besides just their bottles. But they would still take bottles for a while longer.

Soon, Goliath and Elisa were married and did the same thing. Brooklyn led the clan while they were away.

And later, Coldstone and Coldfire returned to the clan too. It seemed more whole with them here. They would worry about their evil brother when he was sighted, but until then, they would support their lead brother and his clan. They were also marveled at the twins and Brooklyn's story to have them.

Within a year, Jayden ended up pregnant just due to her human DNA. Brooklyn was a most supportive father.

He did his best to just humor her on anything she wanted or needed. He was also a male that could say he knew what she was going through with growing pains.

Jayden carried the baby for nine months. When she had it, it was a baby girl. They named her Genevieve. She looked like her father but had Jayden's blond hair.

Gloria and Joshua were proud of their daughter that she had given them a granddaughter. Brooklyn too.

Jayden knew from this point on that three kids was enough for now. She didn't want to go through that again too soon. She was just glad it hadn't been twins.

Further down the road, the gargoyle clans of the world finally met one another and there were rules that were put in place. They were all trying to enjoy meeting one another. Other clans' eggs would join the Manhattan Clan's rookery when females laid their next eggs.

Sienna, Kenji, and even Genevieve were glad to meet some new gargoyles. They made some new friends among the kids of other clans. They could also glide too.

At the age of eight, Sienna had turned into a whiz kid. She could be sarcastic in nature but easily hurt mentally, like her dad. But she enjoyed hanging with Angela, Fox, or Elisa too when she wanted other female role models besides just her mom.

Kenji was more of his Uncle Lex's pal the most, but also liked hanging with his dad and Uncle Broadway too. He liked hanging with the guys, but loved his mom, Jayden too. He was also a protective big brother to his little sister, Genevieve. He would also gladly protect Sienna too if needed.

Genevieve was Jayden's little girl. She was closer to her mother, but also liked being with her grandmother too. She wasn't always keen on being around Joshua, but she would be with him at their house when he told his stories.

Goliath and Elisa also had adopted two kids, a boy and a girl. They were named Rosalita and Ezra.

In 2007, when the gargoyle breeding season came on, Brooklyn and Jayden tried their luck getting pregnant again along with the other mated couples.

All the female gargoyles got pregnant, including Jayden. But she would have another live birth. Being a former human just didn't let her conceive eggs. Her son was named Isacc. He had his father's looks but her coloring and Brook's white hair.

The female gargoyles laid their eggs before she had her son, but they were jealous that she had a live baby instead.

"I was a former human." Jayden told them.

"So, your kids are too then." Another female from the Chinese Clan argued.

"Genevieve is, yes."

"We must preserve pure gargoyle bloodlines as much as possible."

"Hey! That's enough! I may not have chosen a pure blood gargess as my mate, but I chose her because I love her." Brooklyn came onto the scene. "I don't care about that. Whatever we have together is what will come."

"Fine, whatever, but on your next breeding season, the clans will see to it that you two don't breed again. You already have four children, Brooklyn."

"That suits us fine!" Jayden snapped back at her. "Our son is more than enough after with our other three."

Sienna and Kenji's secret had never been revealed to the clans and wanted to keep it that way. But some time back, it was revealed to the twins that they were part human. They had anonymous mothers so that's why their hair colors were different. They were not to tell the other clans of it.

Lex had also found a special female among the London Clan and he and his mate had an egg in the rookery too. She was a grayish female with wings near similar to his. Her name was Abigail. She was also a small female too. She had a rounder face but not so human.

Over the years, there were tough times for all the gargoyles, and it included Brooklyn and Jayden too. The other clans had come to accept her as Brooklyn's mate despite not liking her former background as a former human.

The gargoyles had also come to be accepted by humans the world over too. But there would always be gargoyle haters too. Gargoyles that found potential in wanting to protect humans worked alongside the police force a lot. Goliath's clan was one such clan.

It had also become a crime to hunt gargoyles as they were considered a new endangered species, and it would take a long time for their populations to rebound after centuries of persecution.

Jayden was glad she had lived this long to be with her mate. She had foreseen some incredible things come to pass with him.

Brooklyn was glad he had stuck things out so long ago that would lead to things that changed his life from being sadly single to happily married in gargoyle terms with a happy family to boot. His kids were all experiencing the world growing up with other kids near their own ages and such from other clans.

Eventually, Brooklyn and his family moved to London after the next eggs hatched. He and Lex found it better over there to protect and better humans. But, no matter what, they would always still keep in touch with their old clan mates in one way or another.

Lex and his girl had had a daughter while Broadway and Angela had a boy. Lex's daughter had his coloring but her mom's looks. Broadway's son had Angela's coloring and his looks more so, with maybe some of Hudson's features too.

Hudson was still alive nowadays but had to really stay out of battles as his health was not the best. He was one of the most respected elders to have lived as long as he had though. He was glad to see plenty of new life going on in the clan and glad to see more gargoyles again.

Goliath and Elisa were also doing well as a couple and taking care of their kids, who also planned to be cops when they got older too.

The mutates were also doing well and Talon and Maggie also added another child to their family as well. A boy the second time that they named Michael. Allison also liked being around the gargoyles as well and planned on serving with police too one day, like her dad had once.

Life had treated Brooklyn bizarrely in the past, but he gladly wouldn't trade what he had now for the world. Brooklyn now considered himself a lieutenant on the police force in London. He was no longer Goliath's Second in Command. His daughter, Angela had taken on that role in New York.

Brooklyn didn't care if he ever had any more kids. Four was plenty. All he cared about was his mate and family's safety and happiness, along with his new clan. But he would be a protector that he was born to be. Always.
