Part 40

Christmas time soon came to New York City. The townspeople decorated various parts of the city and made it look absolutely beautiful, especially at night.

Jayden had completed her gargoyle fighting skills by now. On a particular night, Brooklyn was taking her out on a night on the town. A date. Jayden as a gargoyle did feel the cold just a little bit more as she hadn't been born a gargess. Brooklyn felt it too, but he still had thicker skin than she did. It wasn't that cold tonight, though.

The two of them enjoyed gliding hand in hand and talking. Jayden had yet to tackle her first baddy out there. If she could avoid it, she would.

Brooklyn took Jayden to an opera concert, dinner and a movie, and even got some hot dogs for them.

Eventually, they returned home to take care of the twins. It had been a wonderful evening for them. Miraculously, Goliath and Elisa had been looking after the twins for once.

"How were they for you while we were gone?" Jayden asked.

"They were wonderful, you two." Elisa replied with a smile. "You have been raising them well."

"Thanks, Elisa." Brooklyn said happily. "Glad they were no trouble."

Elisa had a feeling of guilt in her heart from what happened back at the beginning of Brook's pregnancy. She had been concerned for him and yet, she wouldn't have gotten to enjoy these little angels now if Brooklyn hadn't run away.

"You are both doing a wonderful job with them." Goliath complimented them both.

"Thanks." They both replied at once.

"Well, we should be off." Goliath said as he guided Elisa out of the room so they could spend their night together as a couple too.

"Did they have bottles?" Jayden asked.

"Over an hour ago." Elisa replied on the way out.

"Okay."

Then Goliath and Elisa were gone.

Jayden and Brooklyn held Sienna and Kenji in their arms and sat on the bed, holding the sleeping infants. They smiled down at their children.

"This sure is the best life we could ask for them and ourselves right now." Jayden said with a smile, kissing Kenji.

"Yep." Brook agreed. He definitely couldn't ask for more right now.

Christmas finally came and Elisa's family and the Labyrinth Clan joined them for the holiday too. The clones came too. Everyone was at the dinner, even Jayden's parents.

Jayden marveled at meeting the mutates and the clones. She saw that Malibu looked just like Brooklyn except that he was green and black with red eyes. The red eyes reminded her of the dark clone of Goliath awhile back. It chilled her. She also saw that Malibu was with Delilah. She found out that she was a mix of Elisa and Demona. A half human/gargess.

Maggie was holding Allison in her arms with Talon at her side as they marveled at seeing Brooklyn and Jayden holding Sienna and Kenji.

"They are very good-looking babies, Brooklyn. I bet you're very proud of them." Talon complimented.

"I couldn't be prouder of them." Brook replied. He also glanced at his girl.

Talon knew what that meant. He knew that Brooklyn was also happy to find his girl.

"You have a beautiful daughter too." Jayden complimented them.

"Thank you, Miss Jayden." Maggie smiled. Then it wasn't long before they went off to socialize with everyone else.
